so much for not crying... the pacing to re-establish the setting took like 4 more panels than i thought it would and i'm still considering adding an extra one because the head turn for izzi to look at felix is pretty jarring... gotta love this medium...

post-color edit: i have redrawn the panel of izzi turning to look at felix. it is a difficult angle to draw her head at due to its flattish spade shape. i altered her pose to be more similar to the prior panel's pose, and moved to steering wheel to be relatively similar to its placement in said panel as well.
the backgrounds behind her in the first few panels -- i wanted the first panel in the outer world to have a fairly barren background, not showing reality, but a plain green was not enough. i decided a flatline followed by a heartbeat at the end of the panel would communicate more, and would also help lead the reader's eye more fluidly.
the second panel, i didn't want to jump too hard into from the green, so i decided to have the background fade in in its own way... green outlines, the seatbelt coming into existence, etc. then the third panel would have harder contrast on top of the detailed rendering of the setting, reality setting in.
