April mega sketchbook tour! (+ ugly sketchbook)

I always remember the feeling of meeting my friend Alessandra and flipping through her sketchbook. I'm the nosiest person and I love going through other artist's sketchbooks, IT'S THE BEST. So I hope you get that tingly exciting feeling when going through my pages :... )
For today we have a little bit of everything! One of my favourite illustrators, Carson Ellis, is doing Quarantine Art Club, and I decided to do Assignment #2 on a day I had no idea what to draw. The assignment was: is a cat, wearing glasses, holding a golden scepter (I actually learned the word scepter with this challenge!). I really encourage you to follow her cause her IG is so inspiring!
I also decided to practice light when painting with gouache AND experimenting with different shades of base color. I miss gardens and going outside, so I painted a garden from imagination with the help of a real picture. I still don't know how to paint PLANTS guys, I wanna find my own way of drawing them, and this was such a nice approach to the subject! I'm really happy on how it turned out.
For my ugly sketchbook (aka. the sketchbook I like to use to doodle freely without minding the result) you'll see all the sketches I did on a 8 hour long zoom meeting, PLUS: I did some research on Chilean myths and I sketched one! On Saturday I had no idea what to draw (I'm sure you know the feeling) and suddenly I remembered a question I got on our previous Q&A: "if you had to pick ONE subject to draw for a whole year, what will it be?". My answer was "Either classic fairy tales or Chilean Myths" so I did some good-ol' google and I found the myth of Huenchula (on a nutshell: she's a human but falls in love with Millalobo, a handsome merman-ish, and have a Twilight-forbidden-love situation). I had SO MUCH FUN drawing her and imagining her life, chores and going to school.
