Random Doors 1.0 Released!
Added 2023-01-21 17:13:43 +0000 UTCRandom Doors 1.0 has been released and is now available on the GreslinGames Discord in the #random-doors channel.
After a week of banging out code and running all sorts of tests (and with the help of streamer Sellineth, who suggested it and has been playing it on his streams this week), I'm satisfied to call this version 1.0.
Honestly, I'm not sure what else I can add to it that wouldn't require a redesign and wholesale scope revision.
Since 0.8, there have been several relatively minor bug fixes. Companions are now explicitly handled, so they should teleport with you every time. And there is now an MCM option for automatically saving the game every time the "safe return" location marker is updated.
It's an interesting way to play the game. If you're bored with knowing your usual Fallout 4 play patterns and want to shake things up a bit, try Random Doors. You may just end up going straight from Vault 111 to the front of Parsons Asylum, ultimately running for your Level 1 life from Deathclaws, like I did in one of my early test playthroughs.
