Totally late to this post, but I do enjoy the throwback to Zabuza and Haku to Sai's ninja way. He sees himself as a tool. And at the end of the Land of Waves arc, Naruto made up his mind that this way of thinking is wrong for shinobi and that they should be treated as humans rather than as weapons. So here, Naruto is again encountering this line of thinking.

Sorry it’s slow right now guys, the anime needed to make time to let the manga catch up. It was brutal in some episodes that’s why the next arc is slightly slow too and then like 20 filler episodes. But bruh, after that... brace yourselves. It’s arc after arc after arc of pure fire for a while. Then way later on it’ll slow down a bit again but towards the end or naruto the show kicks it in high gear. If you’re enjoying it so far, trust me the best is to come.

What Naruto memes is that Sasuke was the only one that thought Naruto was a worthy opponent worth fighting. It happened back in the exams when Sasuke said "You're one of the people I want to fight the most". All the other kids just thought he was a joke. Sasuke took him seriously. Even when he fell for Orochimaru's seduction Sasuke still wanted to beat Naruto. The fight on the roof top. And in the final fight of OG at the valley of the end Sasuke put on his head band to signify he thought Naruto was an equal. Everyone else just wears their head band out of habit all the time. Sasuke had his off for the entire final arc but put it on to show Naruto the respect he deserves.

Good reaction to a couple slow pace episodes. So the thing with the blood mist village and Narutoverse in general is that numbers doesn't always mean auto win. So Normies aren't wrong but not right either. The 4 person team was a system designed for the best way to handle missions. However, if the shinobi are more powerful like the Akatsuki, then 2 person teams are fine. S rank ninja solos a typical 4 person squad anyways. Kakashi gaiden also shows that one shinobi, the Yellow Flash, could solo multiple platoons. What creates stronger shinobi is battle experience. You will see that battles are raises the "power level" of each shinobi though most do have a limit bc of bloodline and plot. It's also one of the reason why shinobi of the past are so strong bc they lived in the Era of warring states. As peace between nations became the ideal, shinobi power levels waned. Just be ready to dance in episode 321.

Also I would say the moment in the chunin exams where Sasuke said "I also want to fight you Naruto" he acknowledged him as someone on equal footing to him. Which was super impactful for Naruto as no one had really seen him as an equal before.

re: the Kakashi VS Yamato stuff, Idk, Kakashi's one of the most , if not the most, versatile ninja in the series. Yamato is basically all wood style and it's very useful and cool but that's kinda... it. Also Kakashi literally saved everybody from exploding in the last arc... I really don't get why people compare them, like Rana said y'all are forgetting everything he did up to this point.

Navi - Sasuke risked his life and therefore his goal of killing Itachi vs Haku. He would have been dead if Haku really was intent on killing. In the Chunin Exams, he didn’t want to fight Orochimaru and even wanted to give up the scroll – his chance of becoming a Chunin / getting training to become stronger to kill Itachi – to protect his own life yes, but also Naruto’s & Sakura’s. He argued with Naruto about not facing Orochimaru and became very agitated when Naruto wouldn’t back down since Sasuke was worried about Naruto. If he only valued his own life, Sasuke could have peaced out ✌️ VS Gaara is the Konoha Crush arc. He was willing to act as a decoy to hold off Gaara giving Naruto & Sakura a chance to escape. Sasuke’s own words “My trusted comrades falling before me. I’ve lost everything once, I don’t want anything like that to happen ever again. If I die here... that just means it’s as far as I was meant to go.” AGAIN compromising his own goal of avenging his clan, in order to protect Naruto. (& Sakura) ... that is HUGE for Sasuke. There are many examples of both of them risking their lives for each other. I’ve never done something like that for anyone, nor has anyone for me, but I have to assume that would create some kind of special bond. Many just focus on the negative aspects of Sasuke’s character (they are there, and for a reason) and because he never reciprocated Naruto’s friendship with words and said “Naruto, I love you, I’m glad you’re my friend.” People buy into the idea that he never gave a shit, or that they were never actually friends. Sasuke just isn’t the type of person to say things so openly, he’ll even say things that indicate the opposite, but that doesn’t make it true. Though he did finally admit all of this in their final fight at the end of OG Naruto – where he chose NOT to kill Naruto, even though that could have granted him the Mangekyo Sharingan and brought him closer in strength to Itachi. Sasuke’s character is a very damaged BOY who has compromised his own life and goals for the benefit of his squad. Of course when the seeds of Hate were sown into you that young, by experiencing the massacre of your entire family at the age of 8? And being forced– by your older brother– to RELIVE IT literally hundreds and hundreds of times nonstop. And after a psycho-snake dude puts a curse on you that corrupts you, it’s really understandable how this boy ended up on the path he’s on. People give him too much shit without truly trying to understand his terrible circumstances and mentality after such a traumatic life.

I get where they are coming form with this section of Shippuden being dragged out. This is one of those examples of Shippuden not being able to get out of their own way. This meet up between Sauske and Naruto would have been way more epic without dragging it out so much. Personally, this little stretch of episodes is one of my least favorite sections of Shippuden.

Hey guys, just wanted to say this hope you get a chance to read this and think about it. Sasuke and naruto are friends, sasuke said they became best friends during their fight at the final valley. The entirety of OG naruto builds their rival/brotherly relationship through recognition of each others strength. The reason sasuke always pretends otherwise is because his feelings would distract him from his goal of killing itachi. As he says while beating up naruto at the final valley, “if he stayed joking around at the leaf he would never have been able to achieve his current level of strength”. He also had the chance to kill naruto but decided not to follow the same path as Itachi (and for plot). If at some point you rewatch original naruto on your own you may see these things from a different perspective, I sure did lmao. Keep up the great work.

But Sasuke did call Naruto his best friend at the Final Valley so he did reciprocate. Although, Sasuke is more like Naruto's inherent twin brother than a best friend. I mean that in the way that your brother doesn't stop being your brother no matter what your brother does, it's the same way here. But yeah, in the real word, you should let Sasuke go but since this is a Shonen at its heart where it's all about hope, it's fine.

Fun fact time: With the introduction of magic and the abnormal to the practical world, it has been heavily theorized that with the existence of said magic, Certain technology will and won't exist. What is the point of a tracker if you can use magic. The thought of inventing such technology should not even occur. The technology of Naruto is a mash of different times, due to this. Overall, the technology is compatible with the 1950s with some more advanced developments here and there. It fascinates me on how focused you are on technology since you have seen shows like Avatar TLA and Full Metal Alchemist where the technology is just as consistent.

Fun fact time: The way they run is to reduce drag. For an average runner, the trade-off for drag isn't worth the drop in total stability and power. However, due to the fact that the characters of naruto can run at 500+ miles per hour, the force of drag would be tremendous, and the technique would the actually be useful to reduce drag and improve overall speed, especially since the force drag puts on the body is exponential, and not additive.

There's a video on Youtube about the last real ninja in Japan. They explain that the Naruto Run is an exaggerated version of long distance running that ninja used to conserve energy. Keeping your arms at your sides and slightly back, instead of swinging them back and forth. Someone else in the comments explained it pretty well!

I'm pretty sure there's also ninja in history that are famous for running like that. From what i've read on the topic, the "Naruto Run" (which was actually used by ninja warriors) wasn't to make you go faster, but to save energy so you can run longer. It allowed the user to run at their max speed while not having to swing their arms for balance. I may be wrong on some points, and correct me if i'm wrong, this is just what i've read.

Itachi is the only one who can do tsukuyomi as far as you guys know. He can only do it because of his mangekyo sharingan, not everyone can do it, because it's literally one of the most powerful genjutsu in existence.

The relationship between Naruto and Sasuke is very much based on their similarities and the various things that are skipped between arcs. Sasuke is the only one who can understand how lonely Naruto was and vice versa. They are also very much fucked in the head. Naruto has been isolated and ridiculed by the village and Sasuke has had unrealistic expectations and some neglect from his father as well as the whole brother killed his entire clan thing. So it makes sense to me why they don't have a healthy relationship because they don't know how to have a healthy relationship. But shown by their actions they clearly care a lot for each other even at the beginning of the series. I also believe Kishimoto doesn't do a good job explaining Sasuke's reasonings and mindset. Also the arcs we see in Naruto aren't the only times they are together. It's implied they go on missions off-screen (which movies and fillers actually do well with). Also when Sasuke said he would want to fight Naruto the most I think that was when Naruto knew that Sasuke cared.

While I COMPLETELY agree that Naruto and Sasuke's friendship should have developed more before the end of Part 1, we also have to remember that we're only seeing Naruto's perspective. Sasuke was what made Naruto keep pushing himself to train harder and go farther, and at the Final Valley we get Naruto's thoughts about how he really just wanted to be more like Sasuke all this time. Getting closer to Sasuke, however small it was, was what made Naruto really feel like he was growing up.
