5 More X-Men Characters Fox messed up.

I love your passions with the x-men and I agree with you.

CBG19, i have comic book questions!....so, I've taken the time between dune club 2 and dune club 3 to read x-men from scratch from 1963 up to now i'm at uncanny #198 (essentials vol.5, vol 6 is next.) Also read dazzler essentials 1 and 2. And X-factor to essentials 3 now going into essentials 4 (which is a little borked because that's later chronologically with x-factor (1988) than i am at with uncanny (end of 1984) dazzler was also a little ahead of where i am in uncanny, at the end.) So i reflect on this that starting around #170 things kind of got off the rails in terms of needing to really read some crossover series to understand what is going on. Question now is:......"I gotta go back and read new mutants from scratch?" I mean to really get what's going on. What's your thought. If you'd read nothing but that so far as your first real comics binge. xoxoxoxo, istaivan P.S. question #2 i sort of observe that with the original X-men they were really painstaking with writing a synopsis at the start of the issue, that sort of grew less and less, where would you put a dividing line on that going away, and is that more book-specific really than saying "oh late 80's they stopped assuming people were coming in cold because they felt more secure with their reader base" comment?

I've loved your show for so long, I'm sorry I've only just NOW become a member!

love the "snatch" name drop reference! lol

Deadpool 2 Juggernaut?

Fox really messed up, even those times I was ok with the casting, the characterization, dialog, and story lines completely off-set it.

And there was almost a scene in the movie that could have used that. They needed to make Kitty useful with her non-aggressive powers. And when instead of trying to stop him, she instead waited until he stopped and sank him into the ground. So, her with her relatively weak power was able to do something indirectly that even Phoenix couldn't do directly. She stopped him from starting to move instead of stopping him once he was in motion. That could be good superhero writing and it might have been in a script somewhere before it got bastardized into what we see on the screen. And then what happens when she traps him in that way? He just punches the ground and hops out of the hole. It's like it was written by a child. Instead of an absolute power that was beaten by the creative use of a lesser power, instead we got a child shouting "that doesn't work, I use my power to cancel out your power".

I will take this opportunity to describe why I think Juggernaut's movie appearance was the worst thing ever. Magic vs mutant is very important for Juggernaut, because mutants are kinda limited by the physics of their world, but magic really isn't. So, when they say Juggernaut cannot be stopped, they don't mean he's really hard to stop, they mean he cannot be stopped. That's important and makes him more interesting than just another strong guy. Even though you can have a mutant who is stronger than him, once he's running towards you, you just need to get out of the way.

Agree all around with you on both videos cbg19

Juggernaut's problem in the comics is twofold: 1) he's dumb as a box of rocks and 2) crippling lack of ambition. The amount of power he has on someone with brains would be an A list villain for anyone. But all he really thinks about is showing up Xavier and getting paid.
