I wanted to use today's textual update to address a few questions that have become quite common, over the last week.
Q1: "How do I get the game? Is there a download link?"
A1: Understand: Peace Island is a game that is still in development. While there will probably be at least two more alphas, we are not scheduling a beta release, for at least three months. We anticipate being able to release the full game one year later. In the meantime, you will gain access to the aforementioned alphas, as a contributor to the project. In these alphas, you will be able to explore the lion's share of the exterior game world, and watch the project's progress, as we integrate more and more game mechanics, animations, and features.
Q2: "Is Peace Island going to be an online game? Is it multiplayer - can I play with my friends?"
A2: While the idea of cooperative online play does strike us as a neat mechanic, alas, we must admit that Peace Island is an exclusively single-player experience. Understand: in making this game, we are trying to tell YOU a story - your friends will just get in the way of that story.
Q3: "How long do I need to remain a patron of Peace Island, to gain access to premiums?"
A3: Good question!
To access the alphas, we ask that you are at least a $1-per-month patron, at the time of the alpha's release.
The gain pre-release access to the beta, we ask that pledge at least $10 to the project, over the course of the campaign.
To get the full game upon release, we ask that pledge at least $25 to the project, over the course of the campaign.
To gain access to the postcard set, we ask that pledge at least $25 to the project, over the course of the campaign.
To gain access to the art print, we ask that US residents pledge at least $50 to the project, over the course of the campaign. Due to international shipping rates, we ask that patrons outside of the US pledge at least $75 to the project, over the course of the campaign.
To have your name woven into the story of Peace Island, we ask that patrons pledge at least $100 to the project, over the course of the campaign.
