Peace Island Q&A

Oh- and one other thing: You'll notice that the first explicit "Hire" outside of dev staff mentioned in the goals was to bring in someone part-time, to make sure that our spending and operation are as efficient and economical as possible. I'd also like to be able to eat an empanada at my desk without Ronan jumping on my keyboard and getting in my face.

You raise many good points. The office is a step- I admit- but it's not a large office. It's actually just a room in a local co-working space. Right now, I am working in my bedroom, and I cannot continue to bring our MECA intern here, when we need to work seriously on a project for an extended period - much less a good place to have meetings/interviews. As far as hiring, I cannot see hiring anyone other than myself and my co-dev Laura full time, at the present. We will continue to work with people (including the translators) on a per-job, freelance basis- as is usually most convenient, when one is working with people in Greece, Argentina, India, etc... Laura is her own person, and I respect her choices. She wants to work on the game full-time, but will continue to work relief at the care home, and has stated she won't leave her full-time position, until she is satisfied the remaining staff is up to par. And yes- my budgets that I post in my goals take into account the Rainy Days that are certain to come. The sting from the two month-long delays in development are still searing scars in my mind. I still resent that ass in London who wasted so much time on our motion controller. I appreciate your concern, and again, all of your points are valid, and certainly noted, on this end.

Didn't know where to post this, but I want to comment about the goals. They're generally nice, but I hope you don't go all out if not necessary. For example, don't get an office if working from home is enough. Devs on some Kickstarters even said that getting an office was a mistake. Don't hire too many people if it's not strictly necessary or if it's costly. And Laura, well, I rate taking care of dementia patients higher than writing for a game (especially if it means a lot to her). I'd rather that you save some of that money for a rainy day. And don't get me wrong, I generally trust you to do the right thing, but as a serial Kickstarter I've seen my share of things that go wrong when devs get money, even if they mean for the best. I'd say that quitting your day job was what was needed, the rest should be done if and when they are really needed.

I appreciate you trying to get the live stream to work. I agree though. A YouTube video and a dischord chat would be perfect. That way you wouldn't have to worry about spending so much time just being able to go live.
