An update in advance of your first pledges coming in.
Added 2019-08-02 02:38:15 +0000 UTCThose who have premiums coming:
Over the next 72 hours, we will be contacting everyone who now has access to physical premiums, to get your deets & mailing info.
Thanks so much for your support- we hope you stay with us for a while!
Secondly: We have adjusted some of our goals.
After we secured our computers at a reduced price, we reduced our computing budget from 750 a month to 450, over the duration of the Patreon. This is $3600 reduction in our production costs, which makes your money go MUCH further.
Another goal adjustment was removing the tier that would allow my co-developer Laura to join me in working full-time on Peace Island.
Laura is just not ready to join us for one reason, and it is 100% legit:
She cares so much for the clients at her facility, she cannot imagine leaving until she is sure that the home is properly staffed.
I cannot argue with someone who does a job so noble as hers: giving care and attention to people that our society would rather just forget. In the meantime, she will continue to dedicate as much of her spare time to the project, as she can.
More budget adjustments are to come.
Now- before I bid ya'll a goodnight, I wanted to let you know how things are playing out, over the next 72 hours:
On Friday, Laura and I will be opening a new credit union account for Peace Island LLC, and rounding out the new home office. The new development machines arrive in the morning, and transferring all the project data will take at least the whole day. I also have yet to get a haircut- I really hope I can do that, because it's REALLY hot up here...
On Saturday, I pull my last 9-hour shift at the kitchen. I close, so I get out at 10.
To be frank, that last walk uphill from Libbytown to Bramhall square will be a very surreal experience- I still have yet to fully digest that I'm not gonna have to flip burgers and toss pizzas 9-11 hours, four days a week.
And that brings me to Sunday: I need to take that full day off.
I have to unplug for just 24 hours, so that I can prepare myself internally for the tasks that lie ahead. I'm doing it for myself, our dev team, and all of those who contributed.
Talk to you again, Monday- thanks SO much to all who have pledged to help make Peace Island a Reality!
