So- Laura, Curbs, Banks, Postcards, and other stuff!

So, I guess the big news is that Laura, the original Co-Developer of Peace Island, has joined the project, full-time! 

It took her a while to extricate herself from her previous job, but now that she has, she's expanding her role by picking up some SpeedTree skills, transferring the writer's bible into a node-based editor that will allow us to flesh out more details of the cats' journey, and assisting with bookkeeping (along with a dozen other jobs- we're always buried...)

I took a brief break from management, and spent a few hours adding new curbs and a bit of landscaping to much of the downtown area.  The previous ones were simple primitives, and looked absolutely out-of-place in comparison to the rest of the gameworld.

Our coding guys have made a LOT of progress on sectorizing the terrain and fixing the errors that result in trees growing directly out of rocks, props, and buildings.  Both of these will ensure improved performance, going forward.

We've also come closer to getting the flocks of geese to be properly petulant and combative - it's amazing what you can do with AI, these days!

We've also brought in a new artist, to assist with the leveling system.  Her first concept sketches of Elizabeth are just TOP-NOTCH!

I think it's pretty apparent by now that your patronage has allowed us to bring some VERY respectable talent on-board!

SPEAKING OF WHICH:

Laura and I were FINALLY able to open a bank account for Peace Island LLC- and Patreon is essentially telling us that they will require about a week or so to check things out, before your pledges become available this month.

No big thing, really- but I wanted to put that out there in the interests of transparency.

Over the next 48 hours, my top priority is to get every last one of the outstanding postcard sets sent out.

We sincerely apologize for any and all delays.  While we're growing, please remember that we remain a VERY small company, and while we're always getting a better handle on things, we're also still always playing catch-up.

After cleaning things up a bit, and adding a used nanoleaf light set we got on the cheap, we NOW have a place where we can actually hold meetings that doesn't have a bed and piles of laundry in the corner...

One last thing: WE'RE PLANNING ON RELEASING ANOTHER ALPHA, AT THE END OF OCTOBER.
