A Day Late, but NOT A Dollar Short.

I'LL BE HONEST WITH YA'LL:

I spent half of the last week down in New Jersey, helping out an old friend and consulting with some old business associates (and YES- one of them was named "Vinnie.")

I used to live in this neighborhood, and it's nice to see that absolutely nothing has changed!

Thankfully, whilst I was away, work continued on just about every aspect of the game.

The first round of baking of static objects was finished, resulting in yet ANOTHER boost in performance - and we're not done yet on that front.  

New and improved materials and textures continue to be added.  It's just amazing to see how much better the buildings look, now:

And FINALLY the greenhouses are actually GREENHOUSES, instead of being blocks of opaque green plastic!

In addition to that, our website is undergoing a re-design.  Hopefully, we will have the new version live soon!  We are also toying with the idea of offering stickers for Peace Island businesses like Boyd's Lobster Shanty- more on that, as it develops!

Oh- and long-time supporters will remember the "Invasive species" that blights the island...

The above is the EARLIEST concept model from two years ago.  Today, we started work on the rather complex mechanics behind this invasive species' role within the game, and we're hoping to finish the beta version of the model within the next week or so.

So much other work continues.  Right before this update, I bumped from a two-hour writer's meeting where I realized that the game's writer's bible is now almost 100 pages long - over to a discussion with the musicians creating the external game world soundtrack, and realizing simply how excellent it will be.

Tomorrow will be filled with business meetings so boring, they will bring tears to my eyes - but ya gotta do what ya gotta do!
