PC Playtest version done- Mac version coming ASAP!

I believe we finished the build & upload at around 8:00 PM Sunday night!  We sent out a general email to all playtesters right after, but apparently, they all went into spam folders - so the proper announcements went out just a few minutes ago...

The final issue was getting the start of the initial mission just right.  For a few hours, Liz would simply freeze in mid-air, and gently float eastwards the moment she exited her home.

The Mac Version is currently under contruction, but we might require a complete re-download on that platform.  In such a case, it will require another 48-72 hours.

That having been said:  Getting this Mac version done is currently our TOP PRIORITY. We have created 10-plus alphas for the Mac over the years - whatever problems we encounter, we'll overcome them, as we always have.

OTHER DEV NEWS:

Liz can now open windows!  Being a polydactyl cat, she's a bit more handy than other cats.  The whole procedure has quick appropriate animations, with her getting on her hind feet to reach the latch, and the panes swinging open.

I know it's not all that exciting, but small transitional details like this mean a lot, as far as immersion.

We've finally fixed the furs!  For about two years, the fur shaders have - well- been less than optimal.  Over the past two weeks, we were able to work with a talented texture artist to restore the proper look & feel to the cats.

You can see the difference here, in Suesea:

I am committed to the Beta using the Universal Render Pipeline.  We attempted to convert the project to URP a few months ago, but it was disrupted by a problem with the foliage shaders.  As we're already dealing with foliage shader problems in the built-in render pipeline, I figure it's time to just ditch all the older, problematic versions, and in the process, finally complete the upgrade to URP.

This will result in far better graphic performance, across all platforms.

We didn't reach our goal of clearing out all outstanding postcard premiums by today.  We were delayed by the last-minutes problems with the playtest version, and hope to catch up, this week!

See ya'll again, next Monday!

Hey guys! I messaged you about producing music and sound effects for Peace Island. Please check your inbox! <3

I actually did get the first announcement email and downloaded the playtest release right away. I played it for a while right until it crashed and rebooted my machine, but it's definitely getting better with every release!
