The devil farts in our faces again...

So - I awoke this morning, ready to start writing the manual for the Alpha that we were due to release, today.  It wasn't going to be 100% what we hoped it would be - a few systems were just not ready in time, but after all of the delays, we felt it would be good to just release everything that we DID have complete - and that list was a LONG one, even with the aforementioned omissions.

I take my seat behind my computer, boot up InDesign, and take a look at the old manual, thinking I can just go in and make edits.

"Nah," I think. "I have all day, and this gives me a chance to release a new, revised and more coherent manual for this pivotal release."

I block out the pages and start transferring text as the Unity engine finally boots up in the background.  I alt-tab over, and talk with our AI guy on Discord - the three geese flocks are getting caught on the terrain again.  Dangit- I wanted to have all three in there as a new feature- and now not even a single flock is working - par for the course.

I cross my fingers and wish him luck in finding a solution, as I tell Unity to make a new build, so I can review what IS there while writing the new manual.

Ten minutes later, Unity just...

Stops building.  Curious - there are no errors in the compiler - it just...

Stopped.

I try again, after reverting to the latest files up on the server.

Same result- the build just stops with no indication of why.

I spend the next seven hours trying every solution and work-around I know, with absolutely NO RESULTS - Unity just refuses the build the project, no matter what I do.

The final thing I can try as a hail-mary is to ask Unity to completely build the project library- a process that lasts anywhere from 10-12 hours - and even at the end of that, there is absolutely no guarantee that will work.

If you are frustrated at yet another delay, trust me:

WE KNOW HOW YOU FEEL.

There have been times today when I have felt the warrior genes I inherited from my central asian ancestors boil within my cells, and render unto me an urge to smash furniture with a large metal object while drinking kumis from the skull of Elon Musk - but: 

I knew that while it would feel great and the kumis would be absolutely refreshing, these actions would in no way get unity to process the project's data in a more agreeable way.

So here we all sit, staring at this.

I will post an update, the MOMENT we have news - although it might be as long as 24 hours.
