2024-12-05 07:58:22 +0000 UTCIt always bothered me how none of the friends seemed to care or even acknowledge that Paolo didn't just hit on Phoebe, he assaulted her! (Not to mention all Ross could think about was getting a chance with Rachel). However, I have to remember this was in the mid-90s, WAY before #MeToo and SA wasn't talked about as much. But still, justice for Phoebe! Fun facts: Monica and Phoebe's storyline in E11 is similar to a movie with Sandra Bullock called While You Were Sleeping, which incidentally was released 3 months after this episode. The movie is about a woman saving a man she loves that falls on the tracks of a subway and she visits him in the hospital where he is in a coma. It happens during Christmas so it's usually considered a Christmas movie. The song they are humming in the beginning of E12 is the theme to The Odd Couple and when Ross starts humming again it is the theme to I Dream of Jeannie. Matthew Perry later starred in a newer version of The Odd Couple. At the very beginning of E11 when Monica and Phoebe cross the street, the poster of Joey promoting VD awareness from an earlier episode can be seen in the background. On one of the DVD features, Morgan Fairchild revealed that Ross and Mrs. Bing were originally gonna do a lot more than kissing. Foreshadowing: Throughout E12 there are blue items everywhere (mainly clothing) hinting that the baby is a boy. As for their ages: Monica is supposed to be 24/25 and Ross 26/27. Though some of their ages are inconsistent throughout the series (particularly Ross), it doesn't really impact the show.
