We sometimes do. Water Slides are often referred to as chutes. Also trash and laundry chutes and debris chutes in construction. But the things found on playgrounds that children go down we do usually call slides

I skipped the reactions from GI Jeff until now. A weak stretch of episodes, and sounds like you guys thought the same.
I'm American (help), and have heard of Chutes & Ladders, I guess, but I have no idea what it is other than presumably a children's game along the lines of Connect 4.

Chutes and ladders talk was 10/10 btw. The tag at the end is Shirley spinning off.
Paget Brewster (Frankie) played the IT lady last season in the corkboard ep. Really fun episode that infinitely outshines the two parter finale for last season.

Some background on this season. They were cancelled on NBC (American network), but Yahoo was staring a streaming service at that same time and bought the rights to the show. NBC owned the original sets, so every set had to be rebuilt for this last season. Which is why things look a little off. They also must have changed their DP because it is more dimly lit and filmed more like a drama. They also had a much smaller budget, so they had to work with what they had.

And Yvette Nicole Brown really did leave to take care of her sick father

Fun fact: the whole opening Frisbee roof collapse was written into the show because they moved to the Yahoo soundstage since they got picked up by Yahoo and they needed to explain why there were now concrete pillars in the cafeteria lol.

I think you guys missed that Abed's reaction to hearing that Shirley left was to ask if she "spun off" so the joke is that she really did.
American chutes and ladders has slides for the down part. We don't call slides "chutes" though, it just sounds better for the name.

Jonathan Banks was busy with Better Call Saul and John Oliver started his HBO show so neither could be series regulars anymore sadly :(
