A lot of artists I know have servers. it's a nice way to keep in contact with patrons, imho. It's a fast and easy way to post WIPs of art and projects, and you can use things like pings and pins to make sure all your patrons know when something new was uploaded, or if you ever want to have a poll and make sure everyone is aware.

I am sure even a few of the folks here would help moderate it. I love my channel for my friends and its a great way to keep in touch and discuss things. I think the biggest mistake is when someone feels they have to be super active in their discord. It is honestly a nice surprise but it's a lot more about community.

I'm an author. I opened a Discord service so I can chat to my fans. In order for Discord to work you have to be present and active. It's nice to have people talk to you about your work and stuff but it takes some investment.

Discord nice to have but not a requirement. It's good for talking with groups and posting memes. And u can lock people to certain groups u make so that could act like a tier system.

Despite being young I'm quite old fashioned... Because of that Discord is not the kind of things I like to use, so I understand your possible rejection to it. I think there other ways to keep a closer contact with your fans, but ultimately you decide man, I'm sure, if you decide for tge Discord option, that a lot of people here will be than happy helping you with the app :D

direct contact would be cool, and you could...speak more freely. (about risque things)

A lot of guys I follow moved to Discord to have a place where they can post stuff in privacy.

For me, it's not necessary. You give us all the relevant updates here already and, frankly, I don't want to know too much about you or any other creator of my pron. If you do end up making a discord account, I would appreciate it if you made one section that focusses solely on the art. All the other stuff can go into other sections.

A lot of creators have discord. They also use it for polls and stuff. Though lots of messages.
