And now we have this year’s landscapes. You can see there’s a lot more consistency in the style of photos. There’s also less to choose from, as I tend to focus more on portraits or everyday life than nature/landscapes. And rather than going on photo walks in the city, I like to bring my camera on trips and shoot away out in nature. Photo adventures if you will. I also am more aware of looking for something that will make my photos personal to me or more dimensional - rather than capturing a simple landscape, I have someone I care about in the foreground, or I find layers to the frame, or leading lines, or movement, or I play around with negative space. And the more I practice, the more these concepts make their way into my subconscious and it becomes less of an effort to find the frames I like. Practice practice practice, that’s the key to most things.
