Scarlet Platinum | The Waltz of Fiend - May 23 Update

After sending the reward for you guys I took 1 days rest then started to work for the project asap. It has been a very long time since my last update on Patreon so I think many of us don't know what it is. 

This is just my small visual novel project that I work with another game developer. Well, besides drawing monthly lewd for you guys, I also want to make something big so this project will be my first step into another field. You can expect something better but for the first try I want to try my best on this so that I can build trust and know my capability so that I can improve it more.

I want to spend more time on this project but because of the deadline I nearly never have time for it until recently. Thank you very much for allowing me to continue working on this project !

This month I designed the UI for the game. I only have had 3 days so I can't give you more ( because last month took too much time for content already ). So let's start with the status bar, chat box and  notice box first.

P.s: This is not the final product because we need to test it in the engine and adjust more so it fits the game. I am in charge of the visual part for this game so everything will change a lot until the beta version is ready. Please keep that in mind, I just share my work and progress to you guys because it's a part of our monthly reward now.

PP.s: I received the poll result and I am drawing a sketch for Irys now. It will be a dakimakura type because I want you guys to have something as soon as possible.  I will also test something this time. The piece will be ready in the next 6 days. Hope I can make it in time.

Thank you ! Hope the UI will be done soon so that I can start to draw things that is more interesting ! I have just finished sketches for now. The piece will be ready very soon ! This time I want to try to do something more sexy with the daki type. Let's look forward to it !

Yeah, games these days use minimalist design so it cuts off the UI until there is barely nothing left that makes it annoying and inconvenient. To be honest I can't find any proper references while making these UIs so I have to dig far further to get some inspiration from Victorian's frames. Still there is the Main Menu left so I am still finding ideas for it. Oh right, the last time I updated the game you haven't joined yet. This background is official things so it was made properly. The time cost for it is very long. That is why it has been 4 years but I still haven't done anything new because there is just no time ( 10-15 days for a piece like this back then ). That is why deadline lifting is very important. Now I can start to draw it seriously again. ( after the UI design is done ). I will come back to draw for the game every 3 sets done. Now let's go for Irys !

Nice seeing updates on the VN again! Definitely looking to seeing more in the future. I'm also excited to see that upcoming Irys illustration! Hearing that's it gonna be a daki has me eager to see it! Good luck and stay safe

Incredible! I think sometimes people don't appreciate how important the UI is for visual novels and games in general. I remember UIs that were so good that they added to the experience and excited me to look at, as well as UIs that were so terrible that they made me feel sad and made me close out the game (I know specifically one of the later Call of Duty games made me feel this way lmao). I really like how this one seems to try to capture the feel of the game, and how the little blood in the clock part seems to tie into the environmental storytelling going on with the background. Seriously, that background is wonderful, I'm really wondering what the hell happened in there lol. How did blood get on the ceiling?? The green you used for the mossy plants is perfect, too, and it complements the bloody decay of the browns and reds really well. It's also really interesting to see development phase UI because it can make you wonder about what you'll be doing. Like seeing a status bar and a calendar element really intrigues me, especially not really knowing what to expect for content. Though I acknowledge things will likely change often given the nature of development, I'm glad to see that you're working on this again and I like what I see a lot. I love your character designs and a game is a perfect way for you to show off your backgrounds as well! Good luck with Irys! I'm excited to see more from Scarlet Platinum | The Waltz of Fiend in the future. I've said it already but I'm glad we got rid of that deadline haha.
