I love the whole album for the sound alone, especially after the lame one before. And Steel Monkey got awarded hard rock song of the year...yep! And I agree with your wondering. "A" has, as far as the band members say the most difficult track on it, which they failed to play correct live not only once: Black Sunday. That would be quite a treat for our Doug to decipher :) --- but I guess it would never be voted top anyway.

In my opinion, I'd love to see reactions for A Passion Play or possibly Minstrel for Tull. My favorite Tull era is the mid-70s, which is pretty much the case for any band that was around at that time. Something about the 70s creativity, production, the sounds, etc. A lot more warmth compared to earlier or later stuff.

Definitely Passion Play and Heavy Horses, but also Crest of a Knave and why not (lyrics are funny) Too Old to Rock'n'Roll and A (which is more interesting to me since I read about it in the 40th anniversary edition)

Looks like Jethro Tull won round 1. For round 2 poll, I suggest giving the options Stand Up, Benefit, Aqualung, A Passion Play, Warchild, Minstrel in the Gallery, Songs from the Wood, Heavy Horses, Stormwatch

It’s a bunch of *great* songs. I think it was their true pinnacle, taking everything from III, IV and Houses of the Holy and blending it into one. That’s not to say that those albums weren’t also awesome, but each sort of had its own identity, while PG had a bit of all of them and more.

Oh, but I don't think it would be a great choice for an extended play - it's a bunch of songs. Personally I'd prefer these to mostly cover concept albums.

Seems most Led Zeppelin fans would disagree, but to me Physical Graffiti is their best studio album.

if Zep I'd like In thru the out door, with Carouselambra on it (among others), but it's looking like it'll be Tull.

This would be for Patreon patrons only, and hosted on a private vimeo link, not a public YouTube link. So blocking should not be an issue. That is how he was able to do King Crimson before.

Careful, doing Zep may get you blocked. But they're my choice. IV is the obvious first Zep album to analyze, but Houses or Presence would be fantastic too.

I seem to be in the minority but Zep should get its due. The easy choice would be 4 and it's a great choice but Houses of the Holy would probably be more interesting and appealing to you, Doug. But truly anything from II (no disrespect to I) up to physical graffiti merits a long listen.

I think an Extended Play with the Pat Metheny Group would be delightful; my personal choice would be "First Circle", which kind of brought the first era of the PMG to a close before they left ECM. I don't think blocking has been an issue in the Patreon/Vimeo world, though I suppose there's always the opportunity for a first...Happy New Year!

Really hoping for more Pain of Salvation. The previous pick (King of Loss) was a bit of a fringe (though very good) song, I really want to hear your commentary on Daniel's raw emotional lyrics. The album Remedy Lane is a particularly personal one, as are the two latest, while Be is deeply philosophical.
