Patreon-Discord Update (January 29, 2022)

This is a video update as we get ready to introduce our new tiers in February. I also address the new recommendations portal on discord. And, I talk a little about the coming new video series called 'Fan Favorites'.

As the YouTube channel grows in popularity you are more compelled to react to music by known artists with a large existing fan base who will generate large numbers of views for your material. On the other hand there are many members of your community (myself included) who would like to see you react to personal favourite music even if it is less well known. Finding the right channel to do this is the issue - it's a bit sad if it's all Patreon only as this reduces the opportunity for casual viewers to discover new music through your 'fan favourites' series.

Then, you'll need to link your discord profile to your patreon profile in your settings (https://www.patreon.com/settings/apps). Once these are connected, you should have access to our discord channel when you log into discord.com or via the discord app.

2022-01-29 21:18:29 +0000 UTCGo to his page on Patreon, and go from there to discord. The discord channel is tied to being a patreon, so it needs to know what your patreon account is. Note that once you get on discord you can setup different names for different discord channels. So you can show up as "Mr Reeves" on one discord channel, and as "Just Jim" in another one. ... that was important to me, because the pseudonym I use on the first discord channel that I joined would not make any sense at all to people in the Daily Doug universe!

Some might like to go thru the list to see if they want to upvote anything (if they haven't been actively watching the list on the fly). Thanks muchly.
