If there is a 2nd season, if you still want to give Shirou a chance to show his heroic sprit, I suggest you try something like below: After Shirou wakes up, Shinji challenge him a game. Shinjii and Caster will continue to torture Shirou in front of Rin. However, if Shirou cannot withstand the torture and admit he wants to surrender, Rin have to take his place and be tortured. A hero enduring torture in order to protect his girl is sooo HOT!!

In P.4, he still maintain a brave look and worried about the girls even though he knows hell awaits him. In P.11, although the brave face is gone, his pride is still there as he refuse to admit the pleasure is breaking him. After being amputated and further tortured, his rebellious attitude completely disappeared. However, he still didn't beg for mercy(Not sure is this you idea or not, maybe he is just too painful to talk).
