Even though the situation isn’t resolved yet, some of the tension has seeped out of Os. They are relieved to see [Oracle] alive and relatively unharmed.
As Os stares at the demon, watching his every move, they find it hard to stay focused on him instead of [Oracle]. Os wants to look at them, to tell them that everything will be fine. But if Os even glances at [Oracle]’s face, they don’t know what their expression will show. They can’t betray their emotions in front of an enemy. He will use it, and it might lead to him spilling [Oracle]’s blood.
So Os focuses on the task at hand, avoiding [Oracle]’s gaze that burns them with the intensity of a fire.
