Alpha Adrian part 28
Added 2021-06-29 04:24:32 +0000 UTCAfter thirty minutes of his disappearance, there was still no sign of Adrian. She was starting to get worried.
During that time, she decided to ditch her underwear. She tossed her panties deep into the woods and found paper towels in Adrian’s car that she used to wipe her wetness.
It never occurred to her that such an intimate scent would reach him. Now it was burned into his brain, and they had to share a ride for a few more hours.
Movement in the rearview mirror made her straighten. Adrian was back. She could see that a sleeve of his shirt was burst open, and the shirt had more wrinkles than before. He was also bare-foot.
He slid into the passenger seat, face unreadable.
“Are you ok?” she choked, and considered banging her head on the window enough times to crack it open.
“Fine,” was Adrian’s response.
She shrunk into her seat. Maybe coming down to the city with him wasn’t the best idea.
Her eyes discreetly locked on his hands, which gripped the steering wheel. He was stiff as a rock, and she swore she heard leather crackle from his direction. If he keeps it up, they won’t have a steering wheel soon.
“It’s not your fault,” he grumbled. His voice was thicker than his grip. “I’m sorry if I scared you.”
“Oh, you didn’t scare me,” she blurted. “I was just embarrassed. Still am. This doesn’t ever happen. No one can smell what happens in my pants.”
Stop talking, you idiot! You’re making it worse.
Adrian groaned like her words pained him. She wanted to groan, too.
Lights appeared in the background, and she realized a cop car was pulling over. They were parked awkwardly in the middle of a highway. This was a call for trouble.
Realizing their seatbelts weren’t on, she reached over Adrian to secure his. While he could probably handle a ticket, she didn’t want him to get in trouble because of her stupidity.
In her lunge, she practically shoved her breasts into Adrian’s face.
As if things couldn’t get any worse.
Adrian’s breath hitched, and she scrambled to secure his seatbelt and plant her ass back on her seat. She pulled her own seatbelt in place and looked at him apologetically.
There was a sharp tap at the window, but Adrian’s green irises remained locked on hers.
The tap came louder.
Irritation came across Adrian’s face, and he lowered the window.
“Hello,” the cop peered in. “Where are you two headed?”
“The city,” Adrian answered, his posture stiff.
The cop looked Eva over. “You alright, miss?”
Did she look like a deer in the headlights?
“Yes. Of course.”
“What’s your reason for going to the city?”
She wasn’t sure what was running through the cop’s mind, but she didn’t want Adrian to get into any trouble. Sure, he was a big guy, but he would never put her in harm's way.
She hoped the reason for the stop was solely based on their hazardous parking.
“For business. Adrian Miller business.”
Something clicked in the cop’s eyes. He straightened and tapped on the door. “Have a safe trip, then. Sorry for the inconvenience.”
Huh? Did she really haul her ass to pull Adrian’s seatbelt in place for nothing? The cop let him go after only hearing his name!
The car came back to life, and Adrian continued the drive. She couldn’t help but notice that he kept the windows low.

They arrived in the city late at night. Other than music blasting from the radio, they didn’t speak a word. The awkwardness was palpable.
Adrian had to stop by his building to pick up paperwork, so he left her in the car.
A minute after he stepped out, she realized he left his phone behind. A call came in, and then it came again when it wasn’t answered.
She picked up the phone and walked around the garage. When she passed the front entrance, she got deja vu. Last time she was in this building, it collapsed on her and buried her for hours.
With a shudder, she went to the front desk. There was no line, because it was night-time and there was no one around.
Her eyes kept flickering to the ceiling, waiting for that sturdy-looking structure to fall.
“Sorry ma’am, but our business hours ended. Please return tomorrow. I can give you additional information if you wish.”
She scurried closer. “I know. Sorry, but this isn’t about me. Can you send this over to Adrian? It’s his.”
She sounded crazy. This probably was a waste of time because she had no way to prove that she knew this woman’s boss. That she’s slept on his bed, touched his fiery body, and harassed his nostrils with the scent of her excitement.
The woman blinked. “Excuse me?”
“This is Mr. Miller’s phone. Can you send it to him, or let me in so I can hand it to him personally?”
She raised an eyebrow, and Eva couldn’t even blame her because she knew how audacious she sounded. This was the second time she walk into this building and demanded to see the CEO.
“Eva?”
She spun around and sighed with relief when she saw Adrian standing there. He was wearing a new shirt, but it’s him.
“Hi. You left your phone behind.”
He stepped closer. “Thank you. Why didn’t you find me upstairs?”
My eyes trail to the reception desk. “I’m not an employee or client here.”
“You didn’t let her through?”
The skeptical employee now looks ready to plead at my feet.
“She didn’t know,” she told Adrian. “Relax. No harm done.”
She passed him his phone and led him outside by the arm. She was really getting too comfortable touching him.
She walked quickly because she was desperate to get out of the creepy place.
“Slow down. You’ll trip.”
“No way. The lobby scares me.”
Once they passed the exit, she was tugged into his arms.
“The building won’t fall on you a second time, Eva. Over my dead body.”
She flattened her palms on his back.
“People are watching,” she whispered. She wasn’t used to public displays of affection. In most instances of when they touched, it was in the privacy of his home.
He ignored her comment and replied with, “I’ll get you a badge that gives you full access to the building.”
That made her laugh. “Are you crazy?”
“I’ll get you a copy of my car keys, too, so you can fill it with your scent all you’d like.”
Oh.
His lips found her temple. “Do you have any idea how many times I almost crashed because I kept thinking about burying my face in you?”
"Adrian!”
His chest rumbled with a groan. “Let me take you home, Luna.”
She was too lightheaded to correct him.
