Jasmin part 3

I arrive at the closest embassy. A short, bored man in a brightly lit booth greets me. Behind him is a gate that cuts off access to the facility.

“Ma’am, the matching program is currently not accepting applications,” he drones, like he has said this a million times.

I clench the plastic bag that holds my few belongings. “Hi. I’m not here to apply. I need to get to Le’vris.”

His demeanor cracks when he chuckles. “You think we can turn the portal online for anyone that asks? Do you know how many women would kill to cross it?”

I feel stuck, because although I sound delusional for demanding access, but I have Myra’s authority. “I’ve crossed it before. I’m a former participant of the Matching Program. Myra asked me to come to an embassy.”

His eyes widen, and he jumps out of his cozy booth. “Follow me,“ he orders. “Hey, Mikey! Take over the booth for a minute, will you?”

He rushes into the embassy, flashing his badge through all access points until I’m in a small waiting room. I look around. There’s a metal table beside the row of chairs, topped with crisp books. There are no candles here, but bright lightbulbs that shine from above because this is one of the few buildings that can afford so much electricity. Everything in here is pristine clean, like I’m in some temple. I consciously entwine my fingers and try to become smaller.

I only wait for a minute before a familiar face crosses the doors. “Hello doll,” Madam Cuero greets. Her confident aura makes me feel relieved.

“How have you been?” I smile.

“Busy. I’m so glad you’re returning.” She pats my hand and gestures toward the door. “Come. I’m going to have you cross as soon as possible. There’s an incoming storm that will pester for days, so if you don’t cross now, you’ll be stuck here for a week.” She taps her forehead. “Silly me. I forgot to ask if you need anything. Food? Water?”

I feel guilty for asking, because nowadays, nothing is free. “Could I have some water?” My stomach growls at the very thought, and I lift my bag to cover it.

Cuero nods. “Wait here.”

She returns with a glass of water and a sandwich rolled in paper. The three minutes I spend eating are heavenly.

“Myra will take care of you once you arrive. She’ll explain everything and provide you with whatever you need.”

“Thank you, Cuero.”

“Of course. Come. It’s time.”

It’s not my first time crossing this portal, but it’s just as impressive as the last time I saw it. It stands like an idle beast, until the scientists turn it online, and it roars with life.

I stand beside Cuero and watch a crate of food and supplies come out of the portal– out of Le’vris and into Earth. Cuero takes my hand, and we talk slowly toward the crackling red in front of us. My vision disorients, but this is nothing new.

We cross, and gravity twists. I land on my hands, a stray stick ripping my shirt.

“Cuero?” I croak, trying to blink away the dizziness.

“C–cuero?” I look around but don’t recognize where I am. There’s no pollution in the sky, no piles of garbage. Clearly, I’m no longer on Earth.

The portal seemed to have split us apart instead of dropping us off at the designated location. How could this happen? I’ve never heard of the portal behaving this way. Perhaps its stability is worse than Myra thought.

My heart beats wildly. I’ve been alone for the past few months, but never isolated. There are no humans here, only this strange world that I hardly know how to navigate.

I take deep breaths. Panicking will not get me to safety. I pick up my bag and look for a road. The sun is setting, but in the distance, I see smoke rising to the sky. That must be someone’s fireplace.

I walk through the tall vegetation, keeping an eye out for predators. My body becomes itchy all over after constantly getting pricked by plants. My shoes are muddy, making me feel heavier, but my only option is to keep going.

The glowing of a beautiful blue flower distracts me. I stop to observe it, and am so drawn to it that I reach and stroke a petal. It’s velvety soft, and I swear its beauty swells something in me.

I keep walking. Although rain pours, soaking me to the bone and blurring my vision, but I find the road and follow the smoke until I spot a small cabin in the distance.

While it’s unsafe to approach a stranger’s home, I have no option. The rain is falling furiously; the wind is picking up, and night is coming.

I knock on the wooden door. It’s huge; like it was custom made for a giant.

After a few moments, it creaks open, and I face a man that definitely has to be a giant. His broaf shoulders block the view of his cabin, his mean glare radiates heat, and clenched fists hold the unknown.

I gape. Although I’ve met other fathers of fire, he makes my match look like a child. A tremble racks down my body, sending beads of water flying everywhere.

He looks at me with a ferocity that makes me realize the predator I should fear isn’t roaming in the wild, because it was in this cabin the entire time.

“Hi…” I manage after a stretch of silence. “Do you… do you speak English?” I’ve always been a soft-spoken person, but he takes so much of my breath away that I’m barely audible.

Chances are he won’t speak my language.

His eyes finally leave mine, taking the rest of me in. His gaze stops at my chest, and a glance down reveals that both of my nipples are hard against the thin material of my shirt.

“You…” his voice surprises me. Thick and smoky, like the aftermath of fire. “Are you the sex worker Tyshon sent?”

“Oh, no.” I raise my hands. “This is a misunderstanding.”

“I am Aldrek. Tyshon said he would send a female weeks ago. You are late”

Aldrek? Aldrek, the dragon I’m supposed to find and seduce? What kind of sick joke is this?

“I… I’m not her.”

“Do you have a cunt?” he grunts, eyes hooded with displeasure. He’s probably used to being treated like a king. Few dare to stall and keep him from getting what he wants, and based on his demeanor, keeping him from getting his dick wet is a grave sin.

“What? Well, of course, I do.” Why does he think I’m a prostitute? Sure, my shirt was ripped a little and revealed some of my belly, but I look more like an orphan than a seductress.

“Then you’ll do. Bend over.”

My mouth drops, and catches a few raindrops.

“Is this your first time doing this?”

Yes, yes it is my first time in every sense. I’ve never spread my legs for any man and this crude, mean dragon is demanding I bend over on his doorstep. I don’t even know his name.

Frustration and fear soak me better than the rain. This is the part where I run away, because whenever something doesn’t go right in my life, I run like a coward.

Right as when I’m about to turn, my hands warm. I can feel the petal of the blue flower on my fingertips. An unnatural boost of confidence makes me straighten my spine. I’m conscious enough to know that some drugging effect must have been in that plant, but I’m too careless to walk away.

After all, my mission is to seduce this man, isn’t it?

I step closer to him and smile. “You think you can handle me, father of fire?”

a/n: She’s going to play along and pretend to be the sex worker, until her confidence wears off and Aldrek is left with blue balls😂 😂 Let's start this CHAOS!
