StoryBoard Collection 2

Hello there

Let's have a little sit back today with a few more storyboards from the vault.

Well, you can sit back with them.  I've got to finish my tax today. As always, all I can hear is my Dad saying "if you had a proper job they'd do it for you"...

So, today's storyboards are almost entirely retrospective storyboards, meaning they were drawn after the shoot had already taken place and used for piecing together the edit, as opposed to being a guidance for shots.

I think it's pretty understandable for this bit, as it's the taxi tour of Pluckley.  Obviously I was in the lap of the Gods as to what was going to happen with that, and couldn't really plan anything ahead of time other than having all the suitable kit in place for filming in the car.  We still managed to kind of screw it up on the first day and filmed a load of alternates the next day.  Actually it was a complete alternate, and that's mostly what ended up in the film. Mainly because I accidentally wore the wrong clothes for continuity.

These boards also contain a scene that was ultimately cut from the film, where we rocked up at a pub unannounced.  I am pretty confident that the scene is on this Patreon somewhere, but until I get them contents sorted it might be a bit of a search (sorry).

Anyway, shall we?

Yes, let's.

(I'm pretty sure this is not where Kat appeared in the film chronologically, but it was on the top of the pile and it's always lovely to see her).

(This, and the next one, actually were drawn ahead of time, but I think that's it)

(I could have sworn there was a storyboard of me putting a taxi sign on the roof as well, but I can't find it in the pile - we shot it, but it never made the cut)

(Yep deffo retrospective - I had no idea the sign would fly off...we re-shot this and ended up using a version where it didn't fall off in the finished film)

And there we go, that's us for today.

He was good value that pub landlord, particularly for somebody who just suddenly had filming thrust upon him out of the blue.  He was in the original trailer talking about hearing footsteps upstairs when there was nobody up there.

That said, we did spend about 250 quid of budget on having dinner there as a break from filming, and he never gave us any discount. So it wasn't all laughs.

Hope your week is off to a lovely start for you, and that all is well and happy.

Much love as always from me
