A simple mod I really wanted to make and felt very necessary to modernize combat.
This works for both PC and NPC, vanilla skyrim's block behavior just felt very non reactive, the only way to identify block was committed was install a floating damage mod to tell you you've blocked the attack, that or check your hp was depleted.
This basically adds actual, more noticeable and impactful reactions, and looks like you are trying to parry/deflect the attacks instead of just doing a simple pose. It looks nice on anything, if you want to have a duel oriented playthrough, and make the combat look like you and the enemy are actually fencing, then this is best for you, same with a witcher based playthrough, witcher also had a behavior similar to this
The reactions work automatically as long as your in block mode and successfully blocked the attacks. you can cancel the animation if you release the block or do a dodge or attack
Mod works well with the recoil mod I made, the video shows these two mods together
Requirements:
-DAR
-nemesis
-AMR
Install like a nemesis mod, tick "impactful blocking" on the nemesis patcher
the mod's code name in the patcher is "fence"
I know a lot of you have given up on CGO, but if you still keep it like me, remember to remove
CGO mod install > Nemesis_engine > mod > dscgo > blockbehavior
