so here's a bit of news for the underwater mod i've been doing, it's been a while since i talked about it.
I've managed to make a different system compared to CBE, so this underwater combat will be standalone, meaning, there will be no need to fear of incompatibility or breaking saves or relying on another major mod.
currently though my issues are I can't do regular attacks, some of the limitations set by the game's main esm, so it's something i still have to look at, another is that walking and idle animations on ground persist underwater, which I'm trying to find a fix,
my plan is to make underwater have it's own attack system, and we can't simply do that with DAR because even the CK has no conditions for them which means DAR doesn't have a solid one either. So this is all on behaviors, so a lot of trial and error, and time
anyways, I've been working on a lot of things lately, and there surely have been many requests, a lot of good ones, New ideas, animations, installation guides, combat guides, and just guides, and I've tried my best to adapt my stuff to play well with others as much as possible.. I try my best to balance the time to fix them, including fixing the issues of my mods, fixing issues of other mods that don't play well with mine like some animation that has different annotations.
Personally, I kind of think it's a good thing, ideas just keep flowing, but also, there's no good idea that doesn't take time to implement so apologies if they do take a while.
also regarding my stuff, well, I don't just make animations, or models and whatnot, I think we have a lot of those coming already, and we have so many esp stuffs that thoroughly change sliders, so I'm just really focusing on fundamental features that make a lot of sense gameplay wise, features that actually display a change and not just have a text pop up like "BLOCK" or "CRITICAL HIT DAMAGE 250" and deplete the enemies' red bar because you pressed left click.
Anyways, these systems aren't like animations or models where you can just do a one and done thing, I mean, a recent abr update bugged out sitting mechanics of all bugs you could encounter, I think beth never expected we could go this far, they might have just thought we'd just produce models or textures, but we're here now, and it's fun implementing fun things in a rigid engine anyways.
But anyhow, I read stuff and watch stuff online just like anyone else, some people might feed on drama like a lot of the youtube stuff and reddit stuff, issues here issues there, guys who hate nexus, patreon, discord, youtube, reddit but I just can't relate with that shit. There are really only a few hours in a day, and we already spend a few on sleeping so there's even less of what's already not enough.
I backed out from too much exposure, This platform is a pretty decent hideout to make nice stuff and have people test and enjoy and report issues and ideas before it publicly releases, I only hope it stays this way that this is a place without all the fuss because personally, I'm already dealing with a lot stuff to fix and make; with drama, i just can't afford to care. Let the youtubers do the drama, let the redditors have their issues with everything, I just wanna mod in peace.
