What holster did you use with this sig 1911?

Nicholas Hutson

Funny to hear you mention the Remington Rand! My first issued 1911 was a Remington Rand! It had seen 6 tours in Vietnam before I got it and the slide had huge side to side movement! Thanks for the great review!

Kenneth O'Rourke

Yes, it is. I recently saw Mr. Guns N' Gear review it and he mentioned it being a series 80.

Jared Caldwell

isn't this series 80 and marketed as drop safe?

patrick russell

Respectfully, and for clarity the Sig 1911 X-Full pistols are series 80 with Colt style firing pin block parts. If you look closely at the disassembled frame in the video you can see the firing pin detent actuator. Series 70 comments in the video are absolutely true and safety protocols used are appropriate regardless of series.

This might get a little lengthy on my end but I appreciate another optic ready 1911 that can possibly nudge manufacturers to make it a readily available option. That being said this one could've been done better with at least a RMR footprint and a 9mm option. That's why I wont mind passing up on one these. Now I have a Sig Emperor Scorpion 1911, it was the first handgun I bought when I turned 21, I absolutely love it. I put 7k rounds through it before I transitioned full time so to speak to double stack 9mm guns with dots. It only had a handful of failure to fires directly related to ammo so it's reliable. Add in the ridiculous ammo prices during covid I haven't shot it or my Les Baer Ultimate Recon since but now I'm chomping at the bit to get back into them and dabble with 2011s. I'm just going to go ahead and send my slide off to get milled for the RMR footprint. It doesn't look like there's a whole lot that's different from their standard 1911 line up, mainly just red dot ready, a magwell, and the tricut slide. I've been waiting for a double stack 1911 from Sig for years, I'm surprised with the explosion of double stack 1911s this wasn't it. Unless it's coming 🤔

I never thought I'd come back again. What is that old saying what is old is new again 😉
