2024-07-30 17:46:49 +0000 UTCI went with the competitor and had the barrel ported.. I tested velocity on range ammo and +P HPs before and after. Even though the barrel has 6 ports cut and is back bored 1".. My labradar showed the range ammo velocity within the variation of one round to the next. I'm not kidding when I tested the HPs (two separate occasions) they actually gained 15fps after porting! Same ammo, same range, same atmospheric conditions, only 24hr apart. Had I waited 2mo. it would have been a hard decision between the carry comp and the competitor.. Timney trigger (2lb. 8oz. after 2k rd.), Tungsten guide rod, brass magwell, and 13lb. recoil spring. It's a fast and flawless tack driver. C&H precision plate bedded with rockset, because I've heard a few stories about their plates shearing screws lately.. mine fit like a glove. S&W really knows how to make a pistol and people love supporting them with all sorts of aftermarket goodies.
