The natural chapter break.

I swear: I hit the 6300 word mark, and every instinct looked at the natural cliffhanger and shouted Stop here! You reach the point where going on means ruining the emotions of that one moment, you don't want to take anything out because you needed all the buildup... you just have to stop. And so I called a halt to the proceedings, and did so at the same moment I internally committed to one more chapter for this month because if I don't, someone's probably gonna trample me.

It's a hard argument to make on occasion: that I stopped because it was the place where the story itself told me I had to stop. But that's the song my instincts played while working through the Chorus Of Hack. So it'll be one more chapter on this, a targeted update for Anchor Foal, and that should be enough to close out July.

August would normally mean we could talk about Everfree Northwest, but y'know. Coronavirus. There won't be any conventions for a while.

We just got professional baseball back in the States.

The Mets beat the Braves, 1-0.

It may be July, but it's still Opening Day. Historically, this is the one time they're actually good.
