At 4100 words, this mood (or in-a-mood) piece falls under the 5k line which I use to determine whether to check the Charge For This Post box. But I wasn't going to artificially pad it out in order to reach the minimum, and it was a story I wanted to tell. As such, there's no pledge charge attached to this posting.
