In that sense, I've seen this explosion before, along with the associated downvotes. Looks like it's time to go through it all again.
Just under 8200 words on this chapter, and it comes with an extra concern. Patreon had a few problems this month. When a pledge doesn't go through (which is just about always due to problems with bank communication), that sponsor is taken off the rolls until collection is successful. Completely, to where I can no longer see them at all -- and I seem to be down by two or three people. Presumed bank problems all. Since I don't have everyone's pledges memorized, it means I don't know whose bank is having issues, and I also have no idea if they get alerted to this post -- or how next month's collection works if I post now.
Put it this way: if you can read this right now, your pledge probably went through. And if you can't, then you have no cause for worry. Because you didn't get notified and couldn't read it.
But I didn't want to stall, so... September begins. A month of party and aftermath (which is going to be at least two more chapters between them), and getting those first three hardcopy books formatted.
