Real World Maps - Adirondack Mountains, NY - USA [45k] - 5m resolution

Welcome to my new project! This work is focused on the area of the Adirondack mountains, in the state of New York, United States of America, at a resolution of 5 meters per block.

For the first time, the position of biomes is entirely based on real land cover data to provide as accurate detail as possible, leveraging the ultra-high resolution of the terrain

The altitude of the map in the real world ranges from -31m to 1629m asl.  In Minecraft, the lowest point on the map is at -114, while the highest point is at 422, with a vertical resolution of 5m

The Adirondack Mountains, located in the state of New York, constitute a vast and pristine mountainous region characterized by stunning natural beauty. 

The mountain range comprises over 100 peaks, offering a varied landscape of hills, valleys, and gorges. The flora of the Adirondacks is rich and diverse, with coniferous and deciduous forests stretching as far as the eye can see.

In the region of the Adirondack Mountains, there are more than 3,000 lakes, creating one of the highest concentrations of freshwater bodies in the United States.

Data used to process the map:

• USGS 3DEP DEM data at 1m resolution - nearest interpolation to 5m res

• USGS 3DEP DEM data at 1/9arcsec resolution - nearest interpolation to 5m res

• USGS NLCD land cover data at 30m resolution for all biomes - nearest interpolation to 5m res

• USA Detailed Water Bodies data for rivers and lakes - rasterization to 5m resolution

Feel free to request a reprocessing of this map at different scales or a specific area with higher resolution.  Bugs are always possible, please report them!

To download the map you have to install a torrent client (for example uTorrent or BitTorrent). With the client you can open the .torrent file and download the map.

For extracting the .7z file, use 7zip or WinRAR.
