Real World Maps - The United States of America - 1:88 scale - 46k

This project consists of a map of the United States of America, excluding Alaska and Hawaii, with a scale of 1:88. The positioning of biomes is entirely based on Open Street Map and Land Cover data, as done in the previously released maps, to achieve the best possible representation of coastlines, lakes, rivers, streams, and wetlands in-game.

Unlike the maps released recently, this map does not contain buildings and roads due to the scale, considering the size of the processed area.

The software used to create the maps is now capable of adapting to any geographical projection system. In this map, a projection system suitable for representing the territory of the USA with the least possible distortion is used (US National Atlas Equal Area).

The altitude of the map in the real world ranges from 0m to 4488m asl

In Minecraft, the lowest point on the map is at 61, while the highest point is at 113, with a vertical resolution of 88m.

Water level is at 62, while building maximum height is 319.

Data used to process the map:

All the data was reprojected to EPSG:9311

• USGS 3DEP 1/3arcsec DEM data for the Terrain Elevation - cubic reinterpolation to 88m resolution

• NLCD 2018 Land Cover at 30m resolution data for biomes positioning - cubic reinterpolation to 88m resolution

• Open Street Map data for waypoints, coastlines, rivers, streams and beaches positioning - rasterization to 88m resolution
