“No need.  You were just a hole for the night.”  She waves me away.  “Nothing special.”

“I will.”  Sadie says as she hugs to my side.  “Now that I know how.”

“Goodbye.”  Audrey says as she turns to stare back out the window.

“Goodbye Audrey.”  Sadie says.  She goes to pull away but finds me rooted to the spot.  I felt compelled to say something more even though I didn’t have the words. Thank you just did not seem enough.

Audrey turns her head to look at me over her shoulder.

I bow my head low and mumble.  “Nothing.  I’m sorry.”

We’d only gotten a few steps when Audrey says.  “Hold on.”

The pair of us stop and turn back toward her.
