Well this was a bad idea.

This might be the last time I do this or really make it limited. This is way too much work for all these arms. I have to make hands for each type of arm. I'm over 20 arms and still have more than 30 to go.

Well this was a bad idea.

I am thinking hand and weapon as separate sculpts from the sleeves. So 50 weapons would be 50 hand/weapon sculpts, 3 sleeves would be 6 sculpts (one sleeve per side unless mirroring which could be dull), so 56 sculpts. The end user can put the hand/weapon and sleeve together themselves via glue or in a program before printing. That way the hand/weapon combos can be used on different minis going forward since the more specific arms/sleeves are separate.

I think you're not thinking of the bigger picture of how out of control this gets. All 50+ of these arms is just one sleeve. If I want to make another sleeve (since one sleeve is boring for 100s of models) I'd have to make that sleeve for every weapon now. So sleeve design 2 would now need 50+ versions. now sleeve design 3 needs 50+ versions. I add one new weapon, now I have to make if for all 3 sleeves, with all those arm versions. That's 150+ for just one weapon.

Doing hands and weapons could let you create a base set (that gets added to) that can be used for a wide range of minis going forward. It grows over time and makes most of your minis super customizable. Including the arm reduces the number of minis that each can be used on. Just my initial thoughts.

I make everything in Blender.

What sculpter do you use?
