The ending of this one always makes me tear up. The way Xena watches Gabrielle loose herself and then walk back from the battle, the hushed weighted conversation, silence after the battle. It's just a lot to take in for Gabrielle, for Xena and for viewers.

2025-08-12 06:57:21 +0000 UTCUgh! They killed sooo many Amazons. I feel like the end was saying that it's not going to be okay for them, but maybe that's just me. This one was very well written though. It felt like a war movie when they were storming the beach. I think this is my favorite Varia episode though. She seemed much more mature and able to lead the Amazons. Great Gabby and Xena episode too. They really brought out the depth of their emotions in this one. Just a very sad ending.
