I had contacted Biscuit (listed as the big boss on Discord) on Jan 29 to ask about the specific dates, if we needed to do multiple charges to apply, and if applying on the first of February would be enough, and they said “as long as your billed on the first of February, you are good”, which with my previous experience with Patreon (removing my membership and reapplying later), I could apply on the first of the date and get billed same day. However, the way this post was worded and the response below to another comment made it appear that you had apply yesterday in order to qualify for today. The issue with the time zones is extremely valid and concerning since many of their Snaccpop fans are located across the globe, so placing the time zone would have been best. This confusion is exactly why I made the previous comment in the first place since it seems to be a trend I’ve been noticing between Snaccpop and it’s consumer base. Making a public post off of Patreon, in my opinion, would’ve been the right call in terms of advertising, but since the information being provided isn’t clarified enough, I think this issue would’ve still occurred, though they do need to advertise more outside of Discord and Patreon. I definitely think holding off for now would be a wise choice until they provide more information (which hopefully they do today since it would put those who could’ve applied today and still qualified at a disadvantage for both Snaccpop and customers), but if you want to be certain, I would contact one of the representatives of Snaccpop directly and ask (which speaking of, there needs to be some other way outside of Patreon and Discord to receive customer support so that when issues like this occur, it would be easier to get ahold of someone without fear of disturbing an affiliate on their off time, but still getting the concerned addressed same day.) I’m sorry that you have to go this route, but I hope that there will be opportunities in the future that you’ll be able to get your name placed in STJ or at least everything gets cleared up today so that way you can feel more confident in your choice of upgrading or not. Update: I do want to make a point that the issue that I encountered has been resolved when it comes to the double charge. I am extremely grateful for their help and understanding. I truly do love the work Snaccpop has put out and continues to do so in the future, so I hope that nothing I’ve said above comes off as malicious or of ill intent. Your hard work and dedication to make the best series/products does truly shine through with each release and we appreciate you! If I didn’t believe in this company, I wouldn’t be here now! So, thank you for your help!

(Feb 1) they said the last couple of hours to get in, yesterday, so time zones could be an issue. It leaves me pretty confused on what to do and maybe they could have advertised outside of pateron? but I saw the post pretty late. I agree with you they could reply or answer questions more often. As bummed and sad as I am...😔 I think I'll hold off upgrading rn to avoid any unnecessary purchase until im sure 100% sure I'd get in or hear from snaccpop. I'd rather not do it on a whim that I may or may not get a voice line if I am late.

2024-02-01 19:27:11 +0000 UTCI apologize for the length in advance, but it’s important, especially for those who weren’t on a membership before yesterday and reapplied just to be a part of this deal. This post is more directed towards Snaccpop at a certain point. I’m just hoping outside of this that when Snaccpop means from the Beginning to the End of February, they don’t mean “stay on until March 1st where you get charged for Bad Apple again and then you can downgrade to a lower tier to qualify” because that means the claim of not needing to be charged multiple times combined with the information released yesterday about being the last day to upgrade is false. Therefore either a: Not enough information was provided for the consumer to make a informed decision on whether or not they wanted to purchase a product, b: This product was made without fully understanding the components consumers have to go through in order to receive the product (i.e payment methods, payment services), or C: The people at Snaccpop are aware of the lack of information provided and put out this deal in a deceptive manner. C, of course, is the most dramatic scenario and least likely to happen due to the nature of the company (community-based; not profit-based), but with scenario A or B (even if it was an honest mistake), this still is an issue because it’s not the product as described. What information they did provide is not being communicated effectively enough because there’s still confusion on both ends (i.e. the question of needing to purchase January, February, and March Bad Apple Memberships and above to qualify for the custom voice lines while providing specific dates and being answered Beginning of February to End of February without being given specific dates.) The best way to solve this issue would’ve been to give specific dates like “You must be applied by this specific date (which is due by the end or morning of that specific date), stay on until this specific date, and afterwards, can downgrade to a lower tier at this specific date to qualify.” However, because people have already purchased the product with information that was already mentioned, this solution would no longer be effective since the time has passed for people to make an informed decision. From what I’ve seen, there are multiple people who had decided they were able to purchase this product because they would only be charged once if they became Bad Apple members yesterday and who believe this transaction would’ve been only a one time payment. This means Snaccpop will most likely see an increase of people with the same issue as we have and hence why I made this post in the first place. When you’re selling a product, there’s certain expectations that come with it, and when it’s not as described, this can cause a strain in the relationship between the consumer and company. I apologize for the overuse of business terminology, but that’s what this is: a business. When someone promotes, sells, or buys a good from another party, that’s what a business is. Snaccpop may have started as a community, non-profit based company, but after selling multiple products with intention for profit, placing goods/game information behind a paywall, and the lack of communication outside of Patreon/the discord server (both of which are behind a paywall), the company became for-profit. With the amount of assets and people a part of the company, it’s understandable that Snaccpop would need the funds in order to afford/support their growing games, but the company has willing chose to pursue those avenues and therefore have to deal with outcomes that come with being a for-profit business. Game creators that solely rely on their community may not be able to do as much with their games because they don’t have the funds (i.e. hire professional voice actors, artists, designers, staff, etc), but they keep their prices low or even free because they want their products to be accessible to their communities (i.e. $1 to see information on Patreon with the highest tier being $20 or $50 and receiving benefits that match the price, active communication on multiple social media platforms and providing information about characters, lore, game updates, providing Q&A sessions where consumers can ask questions about the games/products, platforms hosting games for free/low prices. Most of these come for free for multiple game developers/creators who also claim to be more community-based.) There’s nothing wrong with going the direction Snaccpop has, but the company needs to be treated accordingly; which in this case: a business. The company has made an error in the way it handled its latest product and needs to be held accountable for their actions. Therefore, I would recommend Snaccpop providing exact dates of when the monitoring period starts and when it ends (including the time as to when people can switch back down to a lower membership level; like monitoring ends on this exact date at this exact time (i.e. 7am EST, 11:59pm CST, etc.)), and for Snaccpop to cancel one of the payments for those who got charged twice because of the information provided by this post (which in itself could cause consumers to impulse buy due to the urgency of the post, i.e. “Last hours to upgrade” by posting a few hours before the day ended and not warning consumers at least a few days before yesterday). After the consumer becomes fully informed about the terms and conditions/responsibilities that comes with purchasing this product, the consumer can then decide if they want to keep the product or remove/lower their membership. If they decide they no longer want to participate in this deal, Snaccpop will refund the consumer due to not properly providing all necessary information to make an informed decision, otherwise, this transaction would be deemed as fraudulent and deceptive. However, despite receiving a degree in business management and soon-to-be obtaining another, this is just the actions I would take if I was presented this issue, and therefore don’t hold any say as to what Snaccpop should do to alleviate this concern. Either way, Snaccpop needs to be transparent and precise with any information they provide in the future, especially if the information is attached to a product that needs to be paid for. I also want to clarify that this is not an personal attack against Snaccpop or any of its associates; this is only an unbiased, professional statement on the actions taking place from a company and its consumers and how it would be handled from a business perspective; no personal feelings attached. Personally, I want Snaccpop to succeed because I believe in this brand and what they stand for (especially what they’ve done for their community inside of Discord), hence why I took the time to observe and write everything I’ve noticed not only with Snaccpop, but other VN companies as well, but when situations like the one occurring now happen, it shakes the foundation of trust built between the consumer and Snaccpop. I could list out the other issues I’ve seen within the company, but that would turn this post into a rant instead of informative discussion and those pieces of information (while it may benefit Snaccpop to hear) does not connect to the main issue of not being given precise information on what needs to be fulfilled in order to receive the custom voice lines (i.e. dates) and/or being charged multiple times despite claims of only needing to charged once.

2024-02-01 17:06:30 +0000 UTCWell, despite paying yesterday (around 8pm) and PayPal saying that I would be charged again on March 1st, I got charged again today, (so twice: one for the Jan 31st and one for February 1st), so you might still be able to today :/ I was told that paying on the 1st was fine, but this post made it seem like we had to pay yesterday in order to be included. Freaking out a bit from that since I can’t pay twice, but I thought I’d let you know that you still have a chance!
