Warriors vs Rockets Series Preview

This is more of a big picture take. We are not likely to see matchups that stick in this series with all the screens and switching.

Warriors vs Rockets Series Preview

A lot of this shit was spot on yo. I gotta sleep, I'll hit your First Take tomorrow

First Take Vid Alc?

I try to give my takes on other series In my pod. Doubling down on every Warriors game I’m going on 200 + vids this season. Have to pace myself a bit. Next season I will have a different format for my YouTube vids and be able to cover more things.

Athletic Alchemy

I’m with you...Steph at some point is going to look way fresher than any other star left in the playoffs.

Athletic Alchemy

You've done breakdowns of non-Warrior games in the past. I'd like to see some Alch Analysis of the ECF series. Is that in the plans?

Steve

That'll be interesting to see if we actually have KD defend Harden, so that he switches onto Capela. We did a similar thing against the Pels and AD/Holiday. But I think Kerr will have Klay start against Harden, bc of his experience and the fact he doesn't foul. The matchups will be fascinating but I believe we have the coaching edge. Kerr and his staff have had almost a full week to game plan for Houston. I'm very confident they'll have this team fully-prepared. GSW is the more versatile team. We always want to play with pace but when HOU slows it down, we can also play the halfcourt game bc we got KD. Just gotta keep doing what we've been doing - elite defense, control the boards and Capela, shut off the 3pt line, get into transition, play with pace, and player and ball movement on offense. One player who goes under the radar that we need to pay attention to is Tucker. Of all 3 games we played HOU this year, Tucker led all players in plus/minus at +26. Harden and CP3 were both in the minus. Back in Dec. 2017, Kerr said this: "I think we’re going to be better by the end of this year than we were last year. I believe that. But it’s a totally different route". Kerr has understood all along that this entire season would be preparation for the playoffs. What a lot of people don't realize is that GSW is just starting to peak RIGHT NOW. GSW is still getting better with each game. Take a look at Curry's past 5 seasons. Including reg. season and playoff games, Curry has averaged nearly 100 games per year the past 5 years. A lot of wear and tear. He's only played in 55 so far this year. He is primed and ready for this series and has more juice right now than he's probably had the past 3 years.

Bro, if you don't blow up some day soon. I feel bad for Warriors fans that haven't discovered you yet. Keep up the great work,

Branden Edwards

Lol... yo they sweep them that will most likely be more gratifying than the chip itself.

Athletic Alchemy

I think the Warriors front office knows it's too dangerous to play the conspiracy theory "play one extra home game for the extra $" with Houston. We'll basically see in game 1 what the deal is. If the Warriors fucking blow them out (which is a possibility) they might just take it to 6 (losing game 5 in Houston) for that xtra $. If they play a hard fought win in game 1 and we win close, a sweep is on the table. If Houston wins game 1 anything is possible. Don't @ me.

Major Powers

That ending was bad ass.

Athletic Alchemy

great vid alchemy, got chills at the end

Hey brother ,

Kitwana Tyhimba

that ending was killer

I love the take on falling a sleep off ball, that is very real. Something KD is very susceptible to. Iv been very critical of KD and his attitude at times this year. That said, I’d bet the house he shows up. What sets KD apart from some of these other “unicorns”. He is competitive like he is not one. KG had it...KD has it ... AD, Ingram...KAT not so much. Rambling a bit... point is, you can tell he loves these moments.

Athletic Alchemy

I know it's hard to do it cuz of how the dubs have played, knowing how easy it is to not play their best, and the way 20 3s can just win a game on their own, but I think the dubs come out and use the road to fuel them. I think Steph takes it personally they're gonna try him and he's gonna treat CP like he's still on the clippers and come out Steph-ing all over the place, and the rockets have been known to choke. I think the series decider is KD. How bad does KD want another ring. You'll be able to tell that by his defense and rebounding. The rockets have a way of lulling offball defenders asleep because they never move. You think it'd be easy to defend that but it's hard to throttle down and throttle up in a split second. If KD is locked in on defense all series and they win game 1 this will be over in 5. If rockets win game 1 I can see this going 6 or 7. I hope Kerr gives the "everyone forget who we are, let's go fucking show them" speech, and they just unleash the wrath on them. If hardens shots aren't falling he loses confidence fast and chokes. Remember 13 turnovers in game 5 2015. 2-11 FG. He's still same dude.

Sorry you feel that way... but I’m going to remain fearless in putting who I am out there.

Athletic Alchemy

Well said.

Athletic Alchemy

Great analysis as usual but your gratuitous objectification of women makes me uncomfortable. I wish you would just edit those parts out. I think it's holding you back.

Epic vid and fantastic ending.

I think you are exactly right especially in how you divide the advantages for each team and I would add one more advantage. The warriors have a roster full of players with confidence that extends all the way down to the center of their core, their core belief in themselves. Draymond has it and so does Steph, and Klay, and KD and those 4 players have it in the other 3. "Our guys have rings" I don't think that's a statement about experience, it's a form of confidence that can be gained only one way and I think it's a real advantage.

Steven Stanley

Great vid.
