Kerr is old school in the sense, he will always give the vets the first opportunity. I think Poole will have to beat out Burks for minutes. Burks is a guy that can never stay healthy tho. I could see us all clamoring to see more of him early. Burks gets chipped up, JP gets his opportunity and never looks back. But to start the year the minutes could scarce. So long as the roster is healthy.

Alc, I know the other day you were saying you think out of the rookies, Paschal might get the most time in the rotation on the real roster this season because of his play style compared to someone like Poole who is more streaky. Obviously at some point during the season Poole will get into the rotation. But based on how he’s played to this point, how much time do you think he can get on a per game basis? He kinda reminds me of D Lo. Seems more mature at this age but his raw game with the above average court vision at his position, shooting spots in midrange and the perimeter, overall confidence .

I have 3 main thoughts on this game: 1) The commentators were ABSOLUTELY DREADFUL and annoying as shit through 85% of this game, gushing over Michael Porter Jr. Like seriously was anyone else bothered by that?? They literally spent more than half the game sucking the dudes dick like hes some 5x all star and reigning MVP, and he hasnt even played a single minute in the summer league!!! I understand hes a prospect and I dont doubt he'll eventually be good, but my lord. So annoying. 2) The team played god awful for the first 3 quarters. Terrible turnovers, lazy passes, awful shot selection, poor defense. All over the place. What bothered me the most was their lack of awareness of Denver's full court pressure. There was one sequence in the 3rd quarter where they were trying inbound the ball and they had to burn like two timeouts, and eventually turned it over anyway. That was so sad to see. Gonna mainly pick on two guys plus a minimal 3rd. That #31 Reed and that Lawson dude you already pointed out. I liked Reed for one game I think, and ever since he's gotten just worse and worse. Lawson!!!! Dear god have mercy on his soul. That dude missed like 5 open layups, JUST BARELY made that last layup on the breakaway (I was almost sure he was gonna blow that), and had just the worst pass attempts ever. He wasnt the only one with those terrible passes. Evans and Poole both had some stinkers, but they were at least well intended. Lawsons passes were never there and he'd throw it to no one. Idk how that dude is still on the team. And finally, Travis Wear had a horribly selfish game. The dude was posting up on the block multiple times with the shot clock running down and a dead possession, I counted 3-4 times there were dudes WIDE open across the court for an open shot, and he would be looking straight down at the ground and then shoot a contested fadeaway. That was infuriating to watch. 3) Jordan SwagMaster Poole!!! The dude was clutch down the stretch and turned into the go-to guy to get a bucket, and he almost always delivered. He had a heat check 3 that he missed, but I still loved that he took it. Im so excited for him. He was also playing some great defense as well! My boy Smiley had another dunk. He just gets more and more fun to watch. Its also impressive how he can stay in front of shifty fast guards. Finally.....the man who I believe won them the game? Tuscano Anderson! That #8!!! That dude low key has been really good off the bench, and he had some huge plays at the end of the game. Its almost like he didnt play until the 4th quarter, and it showed he shouldve been playing way sooner, if not starting over Reed. Obvioulsy this is just a summer league game, but Tuscano is looking nice. I like him better than Bowman. But Smiley, Evans, Poole. So so so excited to see these dudes perform (hopefully) at the next level!

I see a lot of nick young in Poole. He has the swagger and confidence but I believe he has more in his bag than nick. Maybe not as a microwave scorer but I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw some big scoring nights from Poole this year. Alc you making me an optimist.. I didn’t like Poole (I’m from Michigan and I’m a Michigan St guy) but Poole can ball I can’t deny it. I too would like to see some consistency as he progresses.

Is it just me or was Travis wade horrific. Like i get that he’s just there to fill minutes and he can hit open shots but i literally had to turn off the game when Denver started pressing. Just a minor complaint. Otherwise hyped about the future of this team and I’m hoping that these guys get some minutes during the season. Fire content as always alch

Damn Poole and Evans look pretty good great to see. Glad we got rid of all the dead weight this offseason and have a new crop of interesting young players to watch!

They'll get a consolation game on the 12th/13th, but they're essentially out of the single-elimination tourney, because of tie breakers and the results of other games. Why would KD do the sign and trade in the first place? Why not just sign for the max with the Nets? D'lo could have signed anywhere (that could offer a max). This is mutually beneficial. You do realize, without D'lo, there are no stars to build around as Steph and Klay age out of their primes. I swear no one can see the forest for the trees on this deal.

Unrelated but it seems KD wanted to be a dick on his way out by demanding a first pick to be added to the sign and trade (which people seem to mistakenly view as KD's favor when it's not)

It may only be SL, but erasing a 17-pt deficit to earn a 3-game winning streak is some nice summer momentum for the young ones' confidence. Paschal and Smiley (in limited minutes) gave me about what I was expecting---but Poole has started much faster than anticipated. I thought he'd be a little more tentative and slower out of the gate. With his play and Evans' emergence, the fall looks like it could be loss rocky.

If JP doesn’t blow too many defensive assignments. I think he could be the 6th or 7th guy honestly. His playmaking stands out. Plus he is showing a motor!

The way I see it, we'll have Looney, Evans, McKinnie, and Paschall coming off the bench first. Then maybe Burke? Does that make Poole the 11th man? While I'd like to get him in there sooner and heat it up, I'm not sure where the team will slot him. Your thoughts?
