Would you like files with supports already on?

Hi all,

just throwing something out there - I'll be printing these figures myself and have found that the best way for me to get good results on my Mars is to use the Prusa Slicer to generate the supports and then export the supported file ready to fill the plate in Chitubox.

Here's a link for the supported Drizzle file for you to try out.

https://ln2.sync.com/dl/4a4109270/nx4n5m9f-zp6bahp8-4sdm47us-4wqzhtdg (the post is public and this link is unlocked so this is technically a freebie - please feel free to share it!)

I always print at 25 micron layer height so i don't know if the supports would need to be designed specifically for a certain layer height, but I'd have thought if it'll print at 25 micron you should be good for thicker layers anyway (should be less islands to support)

Oh, and for anyone here who's new to 3D printing the reason I printed him upside down is to minimise the number of supports needed on his scale tunic.  Right way up all of the tips need their own supports and its just a mess!  this minismises the number of supports but also the impact of them on the model generally and makes cleanup much easier.

Its going to be a fair bit of extra work for me to do this for every one to get a guaranteed so I'm thinking I may put it up as a 500-550 patron goal so it'll give me a bit of slack to be able to get someone in to help with the printing and supports.

let me know what you think - does this file print OK for you on your printers and would this be useful to you going forward?  Answers on a postcard....or just in the comments below will be fine :-)

Cheers!

Dan

no. if the supports won't work because of settings or stupid you'll get the blame.
