Update Post! December 8th (Final songs for the year, Sonic Medley results!)

The first: the final song list for the year. You already know three of them, so really I'm just revealing the 2016 finale. First off is this weekends song:
Tigrex Battle from Monster Hunter Freedom 2! I've just about got this one done and will be shooting video tomorrow, so expect it either on Saturday or Sunday. The second song of the month is our latest Patreon Request List Drawing winner...
Can't go wrong with Kirby! Especially considering a lot of my fanbase is comprised of Kirby fans (thanks Masked Dedede).
The third song for the month, as previously planned:
The much anticipated Sonic Fan Medley 2: Genesis Edition!
So here's the first major part of this post: the entry period ended today and the entries have been counted. As I mentioned in a previous post, the medley will be comprised of the 3 songs from each of the classic Sonic trilogy games, plus 3 more from non-trilogy Genesis titles (and Sonic CD). The two songs that blew the rest out of the water were Stardust Speedway Bad Future (JP) with 35 entries, and Chemical Plant Zone with 27 entries. It was actually a very tight race amongst the other songs, quite a few barely missed the cut by just an entry or two.
There will also be an addition 3 songs chosen from the Tier 7 Patrons, as their Tier 7 reward is a confirmed medley entry. I'm still waiting to hear from a couple of them, so this list isn't 100% complete, but just about. I'm also adding a personal choice of my own to the medley.
So without further ado, here are the songs that will make up Sonic Fan Medley 2:

As I mentioned I'm still waiting to hear from a couple of my Tier 7's on here, but all of these are confirmed!
2 Player from Mean Bean Machine is my personal choice because it's a really awesome song and I felt by adding it we'd also be covering the entire spectrum of Sonic Genesis games.
Also, we do still have a full version of Toxic Caves coming soon on the Patreon album, so don't fret xD. Looks like you'll be getting a little preview of my ideas for it.
Last but not least, the 2016 finale. I decided to go with the song that currently has the most requests at the moment:
So, funny story: You know how I usually change up my picks from the request list each drawing round? If you didn't know, a certain part of my pick changes is so I can space out franchises some, and I was planning on doing this song as the 2016 finale for a month or so, and changed my picks accordingly, but Revenge of the Enemy still won despite being the only Kirby song in the drawing. xD Oh well.
Also, just to further elaborate, I do plan on including all 3 Star Dream phases in the song (Mind in a PROGRAM, Virtual Space Manipulator, and Vagrant Counting Song of Retrospection), with the majority of the focus on the 1st and 3rd phase since they have the most musically.

This should be a spectacular finish. Thanks for all your continued support, 4 songs this month wouldn't have been possible without you all. We're going to take this year out with a bang!

I'm sadly in the same boat, I never played Sonic games growing up, I was a Nintendo kid through and through (and still am, to most degrees); heck, I picked up a couple Sonic games on 2DS Virtual Console and ... well, I suck at them heh. I love Jonny's work so I'll definitely give it a listen, but I am certainly in no position to vote, I had no idea what songs were good to request.

I'll still give Jonny's medley a listen though... he tends to make the songs much better than the originals a lot of time (when I don't like the original that is... and sometimes I love both)!

2016-12-09 08:53:59 +0000 UTCOh dang, didn't expect to see Toxic Caves up there. Guess I'm getting a taste of the full version a bit earlier than expected! I'm alright with that! There's some real oddball ones up there, and I'm perfectly okay with that! Never would have expected Lava Reef to make it as high as it has, but I'm glad it did! Hugely underrated song in my opinion. Can't wait for the medley!

Wow guess the demand for Star Dream is that strong. Not that I'm complaining, it's a pretty good song; personal favorite being Mind in a Machine out of all 3 of them.
