New GaMetal video! Eternal Wind (Final Fantasy III)

We'll be wrapping up the Side-Quest 2 videos this week, starting with track 7 from the album: Eternal Wind from Final Fantasy III!

Fun fact: this was the last song I finished for SQ2. I think it may be among my personal favorites from the album, but then again, I love old Final Fantasy music, so I'm a bit biased.

With this video today, we're already up to 3 videos for the month, and with 3 more on the way before the week is over, this is going to be a really heavy month in song count. So like always, I'd like to give you all a friendly reminder to set your monthly pledge limits if needed. I greatly appreciate everything you all contribute, but don't let me break your bank either!

The next video should be ready and up tomorrow, followed by another 1 or 2 day break while I prepare the last 2 videos. Till then, thank you all as always for your ongoing contribution and support! :D

It's the source of my love for game music, so glad to hear any of it. Literally sought out and played through FF7 because of how bad ass One Winged Angel was. And 7 is one of my favorite games of all time. Like top 5.

Yep! This was one of my favorites from the album. But then again I'm a retro FF nut haha.

Old FF music is the original source of my game music inspirations, so it's always a blast to cover any of it. :)

Well now I just have to go and re-listen to their version of The Skies Above.

Yup, the Black Mages version! The vocals by “mr. goo” are downright sublime. I’m 100% down with full-throated faux-opera on top of shredding metal. It takes an act of willpower for me to not sing along, no matter how public the situation.

If we are both talking about the Black Mages version what do you think of his vocals. I love them, but there very...unique.

Jarek Guevara

Word. The Skies Above is so much the canonical version in my head that I kind of double-take every time I hear To Zanarkand and it doesn’t bring in the screaming guitars at the appropriate point.

This one blew me away when I heard it on the album. It’s got amazing depth to it! Is this one of the softest songs you’ve ever started with, aside from maybe Stickerbush Symphony?

Zach D.

This one was really bad ass. Reminds me of Nobuo Uematsu's own cover of Skies Above. Starts off with a really nice peaceful song for a killer metal transition. And I'm with you on old Final Fantasy music. Some of the later dungeon themes from 4 like the tower are great hidden gems.
