love this. its nice to see people care about the news and current affairs. i feel like apathy towards the news is a kind of privilege because it means that you aren’t affected by whats going on but its important as people to empathise with people around us and give a shit about what people are experiencing.

Even if they were to change up their views a little bit, the Protesters are getting paid by people who believe in the “cause” through their donations. I feel like people who are continuously donating every month would stop, if any slight changes were made to the “cause” they are paying for. It really all comes down to the funding, in my opinion.

Yeah basically what I meant regarding the extinction rebellion was that their whole “thing” is to disrupt people’s day to day business in what I guess is an attempt to get people or the government to notice. What I meant when I said is it doing more harm then good is that, just a couple of weeks ago they were sitting on top of trains in London so they couldn’t move of and it delayed a load of trains and eventually people got that pissed off with them they just got on top of the trains and dragged them down. As well as this the protests have cost the police in London £37 million so far already. I don’t really think the protesters are going about it the right way because at this point they are just alienating the people and if they want to be successful surely they are going to need to public on their side - not on the governments.
