Colin Leaves, Greg Writes

Hey--

Well, that was a Monday, eh?

Colin resigned from Kinda Funny today. It’s been rough one for all parties, as evident from the Kinda Funny Morning Show we did covering it all and talking it out with you (and Colin). I’ve attached it here not for views but for clarity in case you missed the day’s events.

But this letter isn’t about that. This is about you. It didn’t feel right for such an important event to happen and not pop over here to tell you -- the people that have made Kinda Funny a thing since Day 1 -- “thank you.”

Thank you for your Tweets and posts supporting Kinda Funny and Colin today. Thank you for your candid feedback about where Kinda Funny should and shouldn’t go. Thank you for being there for each other.

I understand the emotional rollercoaster so many of you are on; I lived it these past few days and continue to do so. However, just as you are there to get me through it, Kinda Funny is there to get you through it. At PAX East, my message was to be better to each other -- to rise above the hate that flows so easily on the Internet. Today, I saw so many of you taking on that mantra. I saw you comfort one another and respectfully disagree.

Thank you.

Today is bittersweet without a doubt, but there is excitement to be found. I’m excited for Colin’s next adventure, I’m excited to see the new shows we make at Kinda Funny, and I’m excited to see you continue to help build this business.

The simple fact is this: Kinda Funny would roll on no matter who left the company, but Kinda Funny couldn’t do this without you.

Until next time, it’s been my pleasure to serve you.

It's sad that he is leaving. I do believe he has been moving in a different direction. You could see it in A Conversation with Colin, and Colin Was Right. I'm excited for his future. I'm curious to see him move into more of a political spectrum. It will be interesting watching him move from a guy posting on NeoGaf for a small group of niche gamers, to a full on personality that everyone will be able to digest and expand their thinking. I'm happy for you Colin. I will always follow where you go because your entertaining and insightful to a degree that most try to obtain on the various tubes of the Internet.

Like KF has said many times.. they are 4 different individuals who are going to express their own voices and opinions. They have said their audience wont be as large, but that it will be honest and more of a friendship. - What happened to these days? The days where the individuality of the 4 of you was what brought you all together? Im still very sad to lose Colin as he was the one voice that was not afraid of what others thought. I feel like you gave into the man writing that apology for Colin's hilarious tweet. You should not have had to. Was there more fear of the truth, or more fear of how people were going to react and that ratings might go down? And if this community is full of friends, not a single one of you should have had to go on the defense for that comment from Colin. I will continue to support KF because this is unlike any other group out there. But i now feel like my voice (Colin) is being muffled and my parents have gotten divorced. Now we have to choose between parents. The community is split.
