The 'Fada boys catch up after Andy's Amtrak trip across the country! We talk the impending Roe vs. Wade overturning, homelessness crisis, crime wave, police slowdowns, and the great resignation. Listen to the end for our new manifesto!
welled up a little at the end there, big thanks for creating this space. just sharing some thoughts, was doing a provincial nominations (meetings) for the comm party canada in prep of the party central convention (soon) and there's a real internal push at all levels to revitalise and build out those labour centred networks and forms those connections with the union movements between communists and leftists. I think there's really an opportunity to bridge some gaps and join together across some of these divides hindering the movement and am watching very closely as to how we create a space where those pieces can come together and start amassing that power. again amazing work everyone.

Great episode and sounds like you’re both feeling vigorous about the future of the show and projects moving forward. As always, looking forward to more crossover stuff with Tarence , Christman, Varn and the TIR crew in the future. I do miss when you used to ask guests their favorite Clash song, maybe bring that back but as favorite punk song/record? Love and solidarity to you both (and Paul Pot)

it's a really good question what the line is on 'production' since there's the common sense definition (blue-collar) and the marxist one (value-producing). for this project i think it's important to first do outreach to the former because white collar workers are relatively well-represented in leftist orgs but blue collar don't have an org of their own.
but at the same time there have been some growing class consciousness and organization in software and any serious project would be foolish to ignore the digital work that goes into building machinery. i'm still working out the details, but i think maybe two phases (or two parallel drives?) would make sense from the beginning or down the line. i'm going to call for a meeting this weekend on discord and if you could attend we could hammer this down more. - sean

People are pissed about the cat converter thefts because replacing one can be a couple grand and the thief who removed it probably got a whopping hundred bucks from a scrap yard for it. Removing it doesn't make the car undrivable but it will cause it to fail inspection and make it miserable to drive because of how loud it will be.
Disappointed I missed Andy's stop in Chicago, it is my policy to Always Carry A Book.

What are the bounds on the workers in production? How many of them are white collar - high wage? I feel that my job (software developer) would be considered productive as we pretty much build new machines for capital transactions, but I've never had a job where I've believed less in the revolutionary potential of ny coworkers. This is the only job I've had that isn't kitchen or manual labor

New tendency detected: the mapacheists. The manifesto reads well!
From the flamboyant fruitcake, it was good to meet Andy in Tucson! Coming out to your talk, you introduced me to a really cool experimental autonomous community space that I didn't know existed in town.

Can confirm - catalytic converters are being stolen in droves. They contain platinum, palladium, and rhodium which are all becoming ever more rare and expensive. A confluence of environmental and economic degradation.
