Call and Response: WOFF! Dispatch February 2019
Added 2019-02-15 22:39:44 +0000 UTCHello! The purpose of this post is to call for your questions and prompts for WOFF! Dispatch. Please leave your response as a comment on this post by the end of the day on February 18.
We're looking for two kinds of things:
1. Suggestions for our long-form discussion prompt.
2. Q&A about the shows, behind the scenes details, and miscellaneous (including off-the-wall and off-topic questions). Ask us about games or other media, life in general... You name it.
One caveat we've given in the past: If the question is too personal or gross, we may dance around it and not give a direct answer.
We look forward to making this new kind of WOFF! episode together with you.

What do you two think about start screens? do they add anything important? could we just go from the ps4 home screen to loading up a game?

2019-02-19 02:17:22 +0000 UTCFirst, I love you guys. You're so funny and articulate - I really dig your shit. You've helped me realize that I've missed so much in my time playing video games, and you've helped me develop my taste and perspective. More than that, my biggest problem was always giving games more credit than they deserved. I always assumed I just didn't get it. You guys showed me that sometimes games are made poorly by people who don't care, and I don't need to question my opinion as much. On that topic, has there ever been a game that you didn't get at first, but eventually learned to love? The souls games were mine. Thanks! -Brian

2019-02-18 04:30:05 +0000 UTCYou guys don't seem to have a big problem with "Souls-itis", the inability to enjoy normal games after being exposed to the Souls series. Can you talk about that a bit? I had a very hard time playing anything that wasn't Souls for years. Though it has gotten much better since the crushing disappointment of The Ringed City.

2019-02-18 00:36:17 +0000 UTCAfter listening to the Bioshock Infinite episode, I was reminded of Miracle of Sound song for the game and wondered if it had anything to do with why I look back on the game as fondly as I do. Are there any games that you perceived differently or remember more fondly because of other media tied to it? e.g. Music you listened to while playing it, a movie that was playing g in the background, etc

2019-02-17 21:05:02 +0000 UTCWill 2019 be the summer of garf cum, and will Gary out himself on the rap for the 300th episode of Abject Suffering?

2019-02-17 14:22:04 +0000 UTCIf you had to give a game suggestion to someone who had more or less not played video games, what would you recommend? Or along those lines, what games do you consider "accessible" that also demonstrate some of the cool things video games can do as a form of media?

2019-02-16 17:44:09 +0000 UTCJust how impossible is my dream for Check it Out Comrade to come back? I couldn't bring myself to unsubscribe... but at this point it's getting a little weird.

2019-02-16 16:17:49 +0000 UTCA more general question but what advantages and disadvantages do video games have over other mediums, and how does this affect the types, flow, and pace of the stories they tell? This could even be analyzed with genres, like how romance or horror differ in video games compared to books or movies. On a duckfeed specific note, I'd be interested in what are the most and least fun things that happen off camera. How tricky is it to coordinate with people in different states or countries with their own timetables. Any part if the show, like editing, that either of you prefer to do over other important duckfeed jobs. Just curious since in some shows you've mentioned that your jealous its X person's edit, often for music choice purposes.

2019-02-16 14:05:39 +0000 UTCI know WOFF sketches have gone away (count me among the sad, but understanding), but I was hoping you could talk a bit about my favorite WOFF sketches, the FFVII series about Cid's inner monologue during extensive exposition scenes. Kole's Cid is a joy, and Gary's Bugenhagen impression is a delight. Even if there's not a ton to say, I just wanted to mention how much those make me laugh. Thanks!

2019-02-16 12:02:26 +0000 UTCWith the closing of the Wii Shop Channel being pretty recent, how do you guys feel about the reliance on a digital marketplace for video games? As a related question, do you think there'll be tools or methods in the future to help indie devs create physical copies of their games easier? I'm curious to hear your takes on either of these subjects, as it's something I've been trying to ponder myself. Thanks for the awesome podcasts, by the way!

2019-02-16 04:37:59 +0000 UTCWhat older games, Nintendo or otherwise, would you like to see come to the Switch?

2019-02-15 23:24:07 +0000 UTC(Greg here) I realize this is a complicated question, so feel free to narrow the scope. Since you guys do a number of podcasts about video games and have played them from a large era, I was curious to hear your thoughts on what you think the game market will be in 10 years. What kind of console or device we will be using, if you think any genre's will die out, how the indie market will do. Thanks as always for your awesome work!

2019-02-15 23:18:07 +0000 UTCIs Radio Free Midworld ever coming back? That show was one of the reasons I became a patron and I'd live to see the remaining books get the Duckfeed treatment.

2019-02-15 23:17:10 +0000 UTCWhat are some of the craziest schoolyard video game myths and rumors you can remember hearing as a kid? (e.g. everyone claimed to have an uncle who worked at Nintendo who owned a Nintendo 65) Did you believe any of them?

2019-02-15 23:10:11 +0000 UTC1. Grant Morrison 2. With the recent success of the Resident Evil 2 remake what games would you like to see remade from the ground up? Also what features would you like to see in said remake?

2019-02-15 22:46:57 +0000 UTCFollowing up last month's question about roguelikes on WOFF, are there other genres you feel have not been represented on the show that you would like to dip your toes into? Thanks, Zack
