Real Lich Hours 26: Créche Y'llek (Part 2)

I didn’t like Lae’zel at first but she’s now my fav. She is 100% transparent as a being. She’s passionately committed to what she believes, incredibly loyal but open to disconfirming data, and a tiger in the sack. I haven’t finished my most advanced romance with her but she fricking BLOOMS as a partner.

Amateur Tip: Having characters die and then resurrecting them at Withers is a free way to get a long rest. That has never been my plan and I wouldn’t do it intentionally because it messes up my immersion, but it’s an effective option. I really struggled without a long rest to beat the squads of Gith, after barely avoiding a TPK when beating the Inquisitor’s group. I didn’t know about the secret exit. Bad time to switch from normal to tactician difficulty. The Commander killed everyone except my Duergar Rogue so I cast Invisibility and scampered out of the monastery. I resurrected my party, stole my money back from Withers, and returned to the Monastery to kick ass without burning up 80 camp supplies. Then that happened one more time when trying to leave the front gate. I left the money with Withers that time. I owed him big.

The Inquisitor fight was really fun to play on my multiplayer run of this game. All of us were bouncing ideas off of each other and timing out our attacks to be most effective. It really made us think out loud and communicate which is always a good time.

The inn that burned down is basically a community pantry. -GB

Although you can't rest in the Inquisitor's area of the Creche itself, you can without encountering additional Gith if you work your way into the secret Lathander tunnels to grab the mace. This is very welcome, but around this time I've started running low on food! I hadn't been paying close attention to it, and since I'm playing on Honor Mode, I'm being cautious and taking lots of long rests, which cost 80 supplies a pop. I ended up having to go visit some old haunts to raid their pantries. The game provides plenty of food along the way but not enough that players can be complacent on higher difficulties.

BOOAAL’s Blessing can also be achieved without killing a party member if you steal his blade off the head priest before you talk to him. Then you get a unique dialogue with their god and he grants you the blessing. Someone else mentioned this in the comments a while back and it is pretty neat.

Blood of Lathander can also be used as a makeshift torch for the upcoming Shadow-Cursed Lands which is really neat

My favorite bit about the Vlaakith encounter is that if you offend her she will get so angry the game litterally bugs out as the screen tears up. It’s a bug but pretty appropriate one!

The Inquisitor fight is probably the hardest fight in Honor Mode next to Grym in the first 1/3 of the game. He summons a lot of Spectral Weapons. Really fun tho!

I haven't played this section enough times to check if you can always find a high-level scroll lying around in the astral plane, but the first time I played through I found a scroll of Otto's Irresistible Dance - after dying a couple times on the inquisitor fight I decided to use it on him and take out all his minions while he just kind of grooved out, which ended up being kind of incredible
