Sketch Commission - Ichigo
Added 2023-09-26 20:02:20 +0000 UTCIt might surprise some people to know that i've never even touched Bleach - not because of any specific distaste for it, just because it never really came into my field of vision until it was years after the point where it could happen organically. I've been considering checking it out though, and one of the things sparking that interest is this one repeat client who has returned after almost 4 years to commission their *second* sketch commish depiction of Hollow Ichigo (which I incorrectly identified on Twitter as "Vasto Lorde" Ichigo) - this design is genuinely very compelling to me, and nothing gives me a deeper appreciation for a given character than being able to get to grips with them via a painting.
I'm continuing to iterate on what "sketch" means and to some degree i've started using it as a means to experiment with more elaborate compositions or bg elements I wouldn't want to commit to rendering in full in the immediate moment but which I can have fun playing with in the nebulous space of "sketching", where I have carte blance to simply stop rendeirng when I feel like the image is sufficient.
