I have AR500 lvl3 and Kota Outfitters HESHCO 4400 for my wife and myself. The HESHCO are far better and though there thicker and a bit lighter offer better protection than even AR500 lvl3A or + plates. Check out the YouTube videos and you see what you think. I got lucky and paid $ 259.00 with S&H including the plates and basic plate carrier. I upgraded the plate carrier with a Condor that can take side plates as well. It came from DVOR on a close-up of 2nd's for $ 59.95... There's good stuff out here that won't destroy the wallet and still keep you safe, just check the videos to see what's right for you and yours.
