Comic updates input

So....im trying to get peoples opinions on something so lemme ask and...well...get your opinion kay?

Over on my other account FOUND is almost finished. literally down to the  last 10 pages or so. and with it comes the end of an era.  Six years  that comic took to complete.  But with its conclusion I have a comic to  replace it with.  Actually I was going to replace it with 2 comics. One named "The exchange" which is a comic based off a scifi age regression novel i wrote years ago, its actually a human based comic so no furries.  The second being "squiggles" Which will be a very pure innocent daily life take of Gem and friends doing kid stuff like "squiggles goes to the beach" and "squiggles has a picnic" and stuff like that

As  my patron pledges make it that 8 pages of comic need to be done a month.   So 4 page of shine and 4 pages of found. so those 4 pages of found  will now convert into the 2x2 pages of the two new comics.
But that STILL doesnt leave room for cottontail nursery, and Shine isn't  going to be finished for another few years with the rate im going at.   So ive been trying to work out ways I can fit CTN into my schedule to at  least start getting regular updates again.

So here was my thought.
Shine takes a hit and only gets 3 pages a month and then that means CTN  gets at least one page a month update.  It's gonna be slow going but at  least it'll be progress.  You see CTN is a free comic and as such it  takes really low priority in my list of things to do so i ned to figure  out a way of financing it to make it a higher priority so taking a page  out of shine to do CTN would be a way of doing it.

But would people be happy with that?

I cant NOT have a comic running on my other account So there needs to be  that balance of 4 pages of kink comics and 4 pages of non kink comics  so just ignoring the new comics replacing Found isnt really an option in  my view, but i really want to get my teeth back into CTN's plot  (because its proper full on messed up)

I just wanted to know what people thought of only having 3 pages of  shine a month rather than 4 in order to fit in a CTN page OR should i  try and find a different way of funding it like a paypal pledge thing  like for every $100 a page is created?  Ive seen folk fund comics on  FA like that before... I am just trying to brainstorm ways of getting  CTN a bit more of a priority in things as im getting a lot of notes and  messages demanding its return and i cant quite work out how to make it  viable.

Comments

Hey Sammy, I'm sorry for not commenting sooner. I am not sure what to recommend... but I can tell you that despite my own inclinations (not being an AB/DL and even being strongly turned off by some aspects of it) I LOVE Shine. I want to see more Shine. I think most everyone does. It's just really, really that good. I even want to see more CTN again despite this not being my kink, I just really enjoy the storytelling, I find it less frustrating to get more pages of the same comic than less pages of more comics. Though I understand your concern about wanting a more cheerful comic in the other account, I personally would rather have more Shine and CTN, and if you want to do a 1-2 page Squiggles comic once in a while it'd be delightful, but I want more Shine more than anything else. I think a lot of people do. :)

EDIT: I wasn't done with my blathering and forgot to hit SHIFT. I'm also really enjoying Shine, as it seems... I don't know... very pleasant. I always like stories/testimonies of peoples' journeys with age play maybe since it's a journey I partially wish I'd at least make an attempt at myself. That being said, I generally prefer producers to do what they feel more comfortable with, as neither producers or consumers tend to be satisfied once the medium becomes an obvious chore to the producer. It eventually bleeds into the work. I'm also curious to see where CTN is going. I will toss out one thought though... just from the very little information you give about Squiggle (and I say this as someone who loves the idea btw, because I adore cutesy things, and well, Gem falls squarely into that), it sounds like that's going to be an episode contained sort of thing. i.e. you think of a cutesy/funny/whatever idea that episode and you make a comic about it as opposed to a story arc. If that's the case, maybe you might want to take that into account. I think coming up with things like that can be difficult from time to time, and since you don't have a thought up story arc to follow, even more so. So perhaps say 1-2 Squiggles a month depending on how you feel and then you can add in that possible page to whichever of the other comics you feel best about at the time? Basically knock Shine down to 3, make Squiggles 1-2 and add in the possible extra page whatever you want that month. Seems like CTN would be a good default, but I'd say go with what you want there. I apologize for being so verbose :-/

I'm in love with Shine, so if I'd be really sad to see it take a hit, that said, it's up to you

I mostly just joined to see the funny alternate text on the comic pages, so I don't really care either way. Just as long as whatever comics are being put out end up with the occasional funny alt-text version I'm happy.

I would love to see more CTN so I would be happy having 3 of shine and 1 CTN a month. Also the sci-fi age regression comic sounds pretty cool.

I joined for "Found", but the new two sound like they'll be fun, too. I guess I'm not that bothered how you split things between Shine and CTN, but I figure it would probably help CTN more than it detracted from Shine if you made a point of doing at least one CTN a month.

Well i liked the idea of CTN i also do not have enough invested in it to feel bad waiting longer for it. I'd much rather you firstly focus on what you as the creator of such wounder full comics wants and secondly on what your readers want. Adult content is of coursed loved and kink is a bonus but the way i see it if i want that ill just spend the money on a commission.

do you think people would be happy cutting shine down to 2 pages a month? truthfully i thought asking to cut one page of it I was asking for a lynching HAHA

I think the answer is more obvious than you realize. Have a 2x2 and a 2x2 2 pages a month of all 4 comics

I would be delighted to see some movement on CTN - in some ways, slow but steady progress is almost more enticing than something moving quickly.

Im not entirely sure if you can tie seperate patreon pages to the same bank account...but that wouldnt be a thing id be willing to do anyway as ultimately 8 pages of comic a month is really ALL i can realistically manage which is why im more trying to work out how to juggle what I already have and how to slot a ctn page in without overworking myself more than I already am.

By doing the 3:1 ratio CTN would end up being financed via the already existing patreon tier pledge. So worrying about financing it would no longer be an issue

I would be very happy to see CTN being continued and I'm totally fine with Shine taking a little hit for it - while I love Shine I am totally curious how CTN will turn out - the start was just too good :) (I actually was a bit scared, that CTN wouldn't be continued at all) So I personally am totally fine with the 3:1 and 2:2 proposal. On how to finance it, this is not an easy thought, yeah. One idea would be adding another stretch for CTN or so on pat? Or doing the PP variant wouldn't be bad either

Re-voice here, and hopefully others will voice their opinions as well. I vote for: 3 shine pages 1 CTN page 2 of the new comic 2 of the other new comic I agree with keeping a balance between the KINK comics and non kink. But I also hate to see CTN sit dormant for years I saw folks liking it and even though it hadn't caught on for me like Shine had. It was also new and perhaps I will grow to like the characters more over time. But either way I feel the loss of a single page out of 4 is a small price to pay to offer some variety. You could possibly create a second Patreon account for CTN and set it at X dollars equals a page. I subscribe to a few comics patreons that work that way. So folks are helping regardless of how small or big their donation. But they can also clearly see the meter rise and know that you are making good on the pages promised. Paypal is just a little blind and while I'd trust you I think the reason Patreon is so popular and makes donations work so well is folks can see what their artist is receiving so they know if the artist is making good or just telling each donator thanks but you are the only one so no new content.
